a popular duo in the 1960's that had two #1 songs made a comeback in the 70's. their sound was called blue eyed soul in the 60's and this song was somewhat influenced by the philly soul sound of the 70's . released in 1974 it was a tribute to several rock singers that had recently died. it was a little confusing though with some of the singers having similar names Jim, Jimmy and Jimmi.even with that it might be my favorite song by them along with one of their non #1 60's songs that made a comeback in the early 90's.
