not really a country fan though over the years there have been several country songs that had a very pop sound that i have liked including this which is my favorite by Dolly Parton. .she was quite popular in country having had four #1's there before it was decided to have her crossover to pop. this song was written by popular 60's songwriting team Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil who were as far from country as you can get. the song released in 1977 did well besides reaching #1 at country it reached #2 at ac and #3 on the Hot 100.
