Artist: Morgan Wallen Single: “Thinkin’ Bout Me” Writers: John Byron, Charlie Handsome, Taylor Phillips, Ashley Gorley Album: One Thing at a Time Label: Big Loud Records/Mercury/Republic
Didn’t see it here, but “Thinkin’ Bout Me” was officially sent to country radio back on August 21st. It’s currently top 20 on Billboard Country Airplay and will be pushing for the top 15 on Mediabase country next week.
It’s not even added to 30% of the panel yet.

This song is probably the naughtiest I have heard Morgan. I like it, but it's not the top of my list for singles. Catchy as hell though.

So with his previous singles, I preferred the countrier sounding One Thing At A Time to Last Night, and now with this single pairing, I prefer the poppier Thinkin Bout Me to the more country sounding Everything I Love. Hope this gets to #1 and doesn’t flame out the way One Thing At A Time did.

If anything, "Everything I Love" is the one that has to worry about potentially flaming out and settling for a top 10 peak in the coming weeks, but "Thinkin Bout Me" is going to be another 4+ week #1, I guarantee it.

Oh wow... a bit early, but I guess they figured might as well do it since it was already going up the charts on its own. I'm hoping we also get a push a pop for another multi-week #1 on the Hot 100 from Mr. Wallen!

Maybe they will figure out how to get both to #1 like Luke Combs did with his songs. I like both songs but like the instruments in "Everything I Love" better. I agree that "Thinkin Bout Me" is going #1 but would start it at 6+ weeks.

Everything I Love is pretty boring imo. This is the follow up smash to Last Night

Everything I Love is pretty boring imo. This is the follow up smash to Last Night And now he says he wants "Long Live Cowgirls" and "Man Made a Bar" to be singles when the clear follow up IMO is "I Wrote the Book". I wish they would be a little more intuitive with their choices. The last two were the wrong ones.

Cowgirls is a pretty popular album cut that's got a catchy hook...that could definitely go number one. Man Made a Bar is my favorite but not sure if it would smash as hard. I Wrote The Book is less crossover more country radio only.

After seeing the resistance “One Thing At A Time” and “Everything I Love” faced one they got near the top 10, I think “I Wrote The Book” could fair very similarly even though it’s one of the best uptempos on the album. “Cowgirls” makes sense in that it’s very pop-sounding and would feel like a cohesive follow-up to “Thinkin’ Bout Me”. “Man Made A Bar” would be a huge radio hit imo and it streamed really well when the album came out. Plus having another big name on it like Eric Church would make it feel even more like an event single.

Although, I think "Everything I Love" would have easily gone #1 if it was released after Thinkin' Bout Me. Anyone know if there's intentions to send this one to pop?

I do not mind the combination release of Cowgirls and Man Made A Bar, but I for sure prefer the combination of I Wrote A Book and 98 Braves.

Does every single now have to have an additional crossover potential single to go along with it? Thinkin Bout Me hasn't been sent to pop radio yet. I'd think they would do that soon. Not sure why the thought is that there has to be two singles at country radio at a time now.

Moves 11-7* this week, as "Everything I Love" moves 12-10*
I believe this makes Morgan the first artist ever to enter the top 10 with two songs in the same week.

Both this and 'Last Night' were much better than the singles they aimed to promote, but at the end of the day its all a win for him. He is in his Come on Over era. He will never be bigger and he's about to have 8-10 top 10 hits off this record.
I want "'98 Braves" or "F150/50" next.
