WJSW signed on in 1972 as a Top 40 station. Weekly Top 30 with Mark Elliot aired on Saturdays from 10am-1pm from June 1979 to January 1982. Dick Clark's National Music Survey aired on Saturdays from 10am-1pm from December 1983 to October 1985. Top 40 Satellite Survey with Dan Ingram aired on Sundays from 3pm to 6pm from April 1984 to December 1986. Future Hits with Joel Denver aired on Sundays from 2pm to 3pm from November 1984 to December 1986, on Sundays from 1pm to 2pm from January 1987 to December 1987 and from 4pm to 5pm from December 1987 to July 1988. Countdown America with Dick Clark aired on Saturdays 10am to 2pm from October 1985 to June 1986. Countdown USA with John Leader/Dave Sholin aired on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm from July 1986 to July 1988. Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 aired on Saturdays from 6pm to 10pm from March 1986 to December 1986, on Sundays from 2pm to 6pm from January 1987 to December 1987 and on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm from December 1987 to July 1988. Switched to Oldies on July 11, 1988. Switched to Hot AC on October 17, 1994, The Top 25 Countdown with Leeza Gibbons aired on Sundays from 3pm to 6pm. Became WGZO Parris Island, SC in 1997.
