I truly thought that I'd be the outlier among the "Daylight" ranks. I was sure this would be my most controversial ranking and it actually ended up doing wonders for my closeness lol.

My mind on this song hasn't really changed much since hearing it in the first half of 2023. HARDY definitely has worse, and Lainey definitely has better.

I'll have to admit. I did like this one initially, but after seeing the harsh reception for HARDY's album, the cracks pretty much began to show and it soured on me within time. Granted, the album was released on the same day as my most hated album of the year, Rush! by Maneskin.

Also, the gospel backing vocals near the end feel out of place, because one of the last things those type of vocals are needed for, it's for a straight-up murder balled.

A good story song is usually an easy boost for me. I know Hardy had a lot of really funny bad songs this year, but imo he's usually pretty good.
