^I wasn't sure; thanks for the clarification. :)
PTB- Bing Crosby was quite the hitmaker from the 1930s to 1950s, wasn't he? He racked up 300-plus hits, and had 36 No. 1s (counting multiple times "White Christmas" hit No. 1) across the various big charts. He also had numerous hits with The Andrews Sisters.

On top of that he was the number one box office draw for 5 years (winning a Best Actor Oscar), he had the number one show on radio (before television existed), and was voted by US troops during World War II as "the person who did the most for their morale". I don't think any of us can really comprehend just how massive a star he was.

Bing Crosby is as big as Elvis and Frank Sinatra, imo. “White Christmas” deserves a proper Top 10 placement.

I seriously cannot believe people here really think it was the marketing push that propelled her to #1. What was it then?

I think everyone knows it did better streams with better playlisting, but this response of "Mariah being robbed", etc is just so over the top.

I remember reading an article in Billboard YEARS ago (maybe late ‘90s?) and someone claimed that he had half a billion records in circulation worldwide at one point in his career. That’s monstrous.

Would RATCT make Brenda Lee the youngest female artist to hit 1 or the oldest artist to hit 1?

Huge congrats to Brenda! This additionally pushes Someone You Loved and Cruel Summer out of the top 10 longest climbs to #1.

RATCT not being in the this week's top 10 of the Global 200 excl. US shows how US-centric its numbers are as well of some of the holiday songs in Hot 100's top 10 other than AIWFCIY and Last Christmas.
Maybe the lambs can take pride in the global chart since these playlists aren’t payola.

^Indeed. For older holiday classics, usage in modern (last 30 years and change) film/visual media has helped keep their profiles high. "Rockin..." in Home Alone, in a memorable scene; The movie has endured as a holiday classic. "Jingle Bell Rock" in Mean Girls. Not sure if "A Holly Jolly Christmas" and "it's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" have been used in big movies. "Holly," of course," is heard in the perennial, ever-popular Rudolph movie/special. And while it's not Williams' version, "it's the Most Wonderful..." is heard throughout the year now, thanks to that commercial. All of those songs have been featured in either "Home Alone" or "Home Alone 2" Johnny Mathis' rendition of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" went pretty much unnoticed until it was featured in Home Alone 2. Now it's considered standard behind Bing. Anyway, major congrats to Brenda Lee on finally getting that Christmas #1!

I find it funny that people are having a problem with the methods Brenda Lee's team took to get the song to #1, especially the "Queen of Chart Manipulation" stans. Like, give it up.

If what Mariah had done was chart manipulation back in the day and this is manipulation too, you guys have to accept that. If you are defending Brenda's tactics then you are also approving the "Queen of Chart Manipulation".
