I was curious to know which albums released before the streaming era have remained popular and are the most timeless. I saw there was a thread for this topic for songs, but not albums. If there’s anyone interested in gathering the data for this I would greatly appreciate it. Another way to do it would be the 20 most streamed albums from each decade (1950’s-2000’s)

Perhaps this will help? It’s interesting to see how Rock music seems to always endure longer. But it makes sense. Popular music “pops” for a while and then begins to fizzle while rock music as it’s name suggests stays solid and endures through the years. I believe because rock music in it’s essence is rebellious and isn’t formulaic like pop music, it can always be appreciated by new generations and old alike and won’t sound dated.
