Lol how are other artists who are alive not already pushing their Christmas songs? Kelly Clarkson performs "UTT" and other holiday songs on TV almost every year and has had multiple TV specials. Michael Buble has had a lot of TV specials. Darlene Love performs "C(BPCH)" on TV every year. The Jonas Brothers have continued performing "Like It's Christmas" since the year of its release. Ariana Grande released a 'naughty' version of "STM" this year. Cher was everywhere this season pushing her new holiday song.

Not surprised at all. The main reason is that streaming for their songs aren't individually that strong and whatever songs do chart in the Hot 100 would need to be in the top 50. Pentatonix has 3 songs in the Holiday 100, with the highest at #50. Their holiday album compilations though are managing to chart in the Billboard 200 which reflects the popularity of the songs contained in them.

AIWFCIY might be the most perfect pop song ever. Other big time artists need to try to record new Christmas songs. Ariana and Kelly have released new Christmas songs in the last few years but it seems like no one can top Mariah. It just gets gets tiresome seeing the same Christmas songs in the top 10 year after year.Artists need to step it up and create new Christmas classics.

You just don’t “create Christmas classics” overnight though… classics usually take years and years to become established and they rely on nostalgia and time passing for them to really hit their stride. I wonder when people starting to declare AIWFCIY to be a “Christmas classic”?

Underneath the Tree and Santa Tell Me are the clear favorites to become the “classics” of this generation regardless of their Hot 100 peaks.
