Hopefully it is 3 minutes long. I remember 10 years ago I hated how the norm was "3:30" and then some people would do the 3:00-3:15 mark lol. I wish we would go back to the classic pop era of 1999-2009
There should be a rule a “song” cannot chart unless it is 3 minutes or longer. Why? For many decades it was the norm for songs to be 2:30 to 2:46. Ever listened to doo-wop, classic Motown, anything from the 50s and 60s?

Yeah, songs started off shorter and then started to get a big longer and then the last few years were shrunk down so much it is insane. these songs that are barely even 2 minutes are sad. Makes me hate that part of the "TikTok generation" lol. I want 2 verses (ideally 3) plus a bridge....

Vogue being possible inspiration for the song is very exciting. But i heard the album sounds nothing like the lead single so i guess it's still more R&B leaning. Didn’t she already do that with Be Alright?

I wouldn’t mind another 90s throwback like “Only 1”.

I have a feeling the whole album won't be that, but I'm fine with safe.
And who is trying to be our tea sources on Twitter? Nasty.

Vogue is one of my favorite Madonna songs and Ariana always kills it with her dance pop, so I’m excited. With Ariana going straight up r&b-influence on positions, I’m not surprised she’s playing it safe by going straight up dance pop with this. Other pop artists have done similar things like that before (Rihanna with Only Girl after Rated R and Gaga with Stupid Love after Joanne).

To the person that created a twitter account just to post the info that i share here, you are welcomed, here comes a hit tweet. - 3:35 - It's basically one big interpolation of Madonna's vogue (or at least sounds super super similar). - Chorus: "yes, and... play that shit with your chest and... be your own fucking best.... friend... say that shit with your chest, keep moving what's next" - Produced by Max Martin, ILYA and Ariana. - does it sound like a hit? for sure? does it also sound safe? yes. its a very light/to the masses version of what other singers have been doing with house beats. when you say safe do you mean it in a beyoncé-break my soul way (heavily relying on a well known sample + universal message) or a gaga-chromatica way (just very watered down house beats)?

Interesting since she had a hit with Gaga giving dance for the masses.

If this does interlope Vogue, won't she get bashed for copying Beyonce? Or is this all just rumors.

Ariana is one of the few artists I just never worry about - while I love some songs more than others, her chill aesthetic (paired with a voice none of her contemporaries can touch) and powerhouse team always separate her from the pack.
I’m perched. I’ve heard awful ripoffs of Vogue, I’ve heard great ones. I doubt Ariana and Max Martin will do wrong here.

"Vogue" is a mix of various sounds, some which Shep Pettibone worked on himself, even tracks he did before his "Miss You Much" remix. He and M created magic with "Vogue."
In any event, I tend to like Grande's dance tracks best out of what she puts out, so we'll see how this one goes.

Well in that case the point still stands and I doubt enough people even know about a remix to cause a controversy; the few people who do care about something so trivial don't really matter. And I can't with the notion anyone who would be up in arms about a song copying a song that copied a song. lol

It really shouldn't be a big deal but its been known (like most pop artists) Ari looks up and is inspired by Madonna, to the point where she even had that monologue from Madonna scene in the GIAW music video. Wouldn't be the first a similar sample was used by Beyoncé and another artist around the same time, already happened with Alien Supetstar and Drake's Way 2 Sexy.

Madonna is the queen of pop, of course multiple artists are inspired by her and even sample/interpolate her music. This feels like a non issue.

Madonna is a fan of Ariana, too, and had her on stage during the Rebel Heart Tour. I wouldn't even be surprised if she shows up on stage on Madonna's US leg. Total non-issue.
