A Marilyn Manson Tove Lo mash-up? Just joking, it should be good though

Sounds exactly what you would expect from them in the 2010s. Can't wait for this to spend multiple weeks at #1 on AAA!

Nice. True to their sound. If it ain't broke it don't need fixin' D/L check.

To me the problem is not just them making the same song over and over again, but them doing the absolute bare minimum at doing so AND getting rewarded for it on both the charts and at the Grammys, etc. I'm sure taste is subjective, but in my opinion, Wild Child didn't deserve the AAA year-end #1 over Florence + the Machine that year; it didn't deserve (or, at least, was not worthy of) its Grammy nomination either when there were better rock songs that year. I understand some bands don't know how to pull off a Paramore and change their sound multiple times, and I'm definitely not asking things to be "hybrid" (NO ONE is asking for this in this day and age unless you're Jared Leto who somehow didn't listen), but I do expect the band to at least sound more focused or alive when making their music, rather than just going through the motions. Rise Against are another band who does the same thing each time but at least with them, they sound more lively.

New Mumford makes this sound like a masterpiece in comparison (solely comparing both as both are lead singles from established acts)

This is a fun song with a cool vibe. I was at the bar last night and it came on the jukebox, lots of people were enjoying it and having a good time. I am glad to see it doing well on the charts :)

I liked "Wild Child" a good amount personally, but this doesn't really do it for me.

I didn't really care for any of the first three big leadoff releases of the year (surprisingly not CTE, UNsurprisingly not M&S), but on first impression this was the one I liked the most, by default. As a casual fan of The Black Keys (even if I don't know if I fully forgive them for their NFT grift when they did it) and enjoyed "Wild Child", paying attention to it now, this sounds pretty uninspired even with their solid musical instincts. I couldn't agree harder there. In fact, who wouldn't agree with that?

Did I tell you this will probably block MGMT or/and Future Islands from the #1 on AAA? Proving my point further.

The Black Keys earn their 8th Billboard AAA #1 with "Beautiful People (Stay High)." They only took four weeks to move to #1, and this is their first topper since 2022. The Black Keys are one of the most consistent bands in AAA, with their #1s dating back to 2011. Previous #1s: - Lonely Boy - 2011
- Fever - 2014
- Gotta Get Away - 2014
- Lo/Hi - 2019
- Go - 2019
- Crawling Kingsnake - 2021
- Wild Child - 2022
"Beautiful People (Stay High)" is the second #1 of 2024.

this isn't song related (which i don't plan on seeking out) but wtf did y'all realize they put out another album in 2021 ? thats 4 full length projects (and subsequent single rollouts) in 5 years, no wonder so many people are sick of them

This is good, but I'd still rather listen to Crawling Kingsnake or Wild Child.

#1 on Alternative:
2 1 THE BLACK KEYS Beautiful People (Stay High) 2824 2404 420 3.566
This has kinda grown on me. Is that a bad thing? For whatever reason, I have ALL OF THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE SAY HEY ALL OF THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE STAY HIGH stuck in my head. So if their motive was for a car commercial-like tune, they succeeded on me, I guess?
I'm still against it hitting #1 on AAA, because other songs deserve it more, especially a month at the top at that. (Poor Future Islands and MGMT)
