I’m really disappointed with Ariana and LNX releases, especially with Ariana thought she was coming back swinging. Won’t be surprised if Jack unfortunately is at No. 1 again.

New Lil Nas X song not even top 200 on AM ~21 hours after release is crazy. Especially after he branded it "the biggest comeback of all time". Very satisfying to see the gimmicks didn't stick this time.

I'm no fan of LNX and I don't mind at all to see his schtick not schticking, but is this the social media spin that's thriving here? That LNX is calling this "the biggest comeback of all time"? Because I did read his tweet and that's not what he said at ALL. He was saying Jesus Christ had "the biggest comeback of all time", NOT that LNX's own comeback would be the "biggest".

I would reserve the Lil Nas obituaries until Spotify numbers drop. AM is not his strongest platform.
But yeah it ain't topping Ariana and maybe not even whatever the top 21 Savage track ends up being.

Urm it’d be kinda unprecedented for a song to not even go top 200 on Apple Music first day but pull notable numbers on Spotify.
If he was at like #40 or #20 on Apple Music then yeah, “wait for Spotify” would be a reasonable point before concluding on the Day 1 hype but this def isn’t looking like a good debut with AM numbers so low. YouTube also isn’t that strong this time around which is what helped CMBYN/Industry go so viral and resonate first week.

Maybe it seems like the people are now tired of shock value rollouts (especially with how everyone on all sides were coming at him for using Christianity in the video whether or not he was parodying it), doesn’t make it better the track itself was trash. He needs to take a page on what Doja did with PTTR for his next single before he ends up blowing his career.

Tbh I'm kinda hoping it tanks because the antics got annoying and the song isn't on par with the three amazing hits from his album. |

The Apple Music top 10 is entirely comprised of yes, and? and 21 Savage songs lol. 21 also has his entire album in the top 19. 21 Savage & Travis Scott in top 5 The Travis feature isn't even among his 2 highest songs on AM (it's only at 3rd)  |

This might be harsh to say but I really hope Lil Nas X flops with his next era so he can crawl back into whatever hole he goes into after every era but instead, he remains there for good after realizing the world no longer cares for his music/his antics.

-Seems like Ari will get the #1 but idk if she can hold there against Jack long-term. Could be another Vampire/Last Night situation tbh.
-21 is gauranteed a pretty big album bomb, like i think he can get 3 top 10s and 7 top 20s if he holds well enough.
-Doesn't seem like Lil Nas X is gonna do that well.
-Cudi and Kali are probably gonna both get only 1 debut (the Travis and Peso Pluma collabs respectively).
-2.02.99 likely won't chart sadly.

This week is way bigger than anyone anticipated. 21 Savafe has a huge album bomb. Ariana big as expected. Kali has a song doing better than LNX and Cudi will get a song in as well. Also while a lot of people talk about Murder in the Dancefloor, Never Gonna Lose Me seems to be holding better and is higher. Will probably be the sleeper hit out of all the streaming songs.

Not sure about the album release week, but I hope she'll release the 2nd single then - since the album hype is always the best promo. LNX situation is really shocking, but at the same time...it's not? I think he waited too long for his 3rd era (early 2023 would be perfect imo), and he really had to change something, this just feels like a 6th single from Montero, only 2 years later and with the same old story behind it. IMO, if he wants chart success again, music should be his main focus, and not how he'll cause polarizing reactions. |
