hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=339252&title=NEW-RELEASES%253A-GREEN-POWERSaturday, January 20, 2024 NEW RELEASES: GREEN POWERGreen Day’s 14th studio album, Saviors (Reprise), is headed toward a first week opening in the 40-50k range. This puts the set on par with the band’s last release, Father of All Motherfuckers, which opened with 48k in February 2020. Warner is also seeing action this week with Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things (Night Street). The track is currently #1 on the iTunes sales chart, Top 5 Spotify US and Top 20 at both Spotify Global and Apple Music. Slaughter Gang/Epic’s 21 Savage is expected to remain at #1 for a second week.

Green Day’s Saviors (Reprise) is headed for a Top 5 debut as Slaughter Gang/Epic’s 21 Savage will repeat at #1 with around 70k. Last year’s label group leader, Republic, is aiming for seven titles in the Top 10 and half of the Top 20.
Looks like it will be another stellar year for Taylor Swift. Sorry, Buffalo.

I thought Green Day would be much higher for some reason. Closer to 100k

I on the other hand find them moving 50k in 2024 with zero hype impressive.

I on the other hand find them moving 50k in 2024 with zero hype impressive. I don't know if I would say zero hype as their songs were doing well at their core format and they have a giant tour. The review was also very well received and there seems to be a few more hits on it. Maybe even a pop crossover. But I guess those fans do not necessarily care for new music who are seeing them on tour

All these 30+ year veterans basically do 25-100K first week, then drop completely out off the charts and on anyone's radar in 2-3 weeks so...
Like does an album doing 80K total or 50K total (a range that is still absolutely nowhere near ever having a chance of certification) in the grand scheme really matter. At that point it's just nice they still release new music.

Title swapped the position of Morgan and 21 Savage.
Green Day actually did better here than their last album in 2020 (42k sales/48k SPS).

Good for 21 and Green Day.
Eras Tour can't come back soon enough. Still doing amazing numbers of course but I thought 1989 would hold close to the top spot a bit longer.

Lil Dicky barely top 50 is kinda embarrassing. His last album hit the top 10 9 years ago and he is way more famous now than he was in 2015.

s^Maybe so. But that album had 22k pure sales out of 26k SPS. Given how much the latter has fallen for most artist's new albums recently, the 16k SPS kind of makes sense. The top 10 for his previous album indicates how much weaker the numbers were that particular week compared to this week, given how it would have barely made this week's top 20 in the Billboard 200.
