Thanks for posting the charts, Gary.
"Popular" reaches new peaks on both the Global 200 and Global 200 Exc USA- No. 13 on both. And its No. 33 Streaming Songs rank is just four spots below its initial No. 29 peak.

People saying "Hiss only got to #1 cuz Nicki Minaj" as if multiple hits didn't reach #1 thanks to going viral midweek due to external celebrity drama. Flowers, Drivers License, Lose You To Love Me, the list goes on. ...funny how Hiss is the only one people harp on. but if HISS falls out of the top 10 and never comes back, you can say it hit #1 because of the drama. People really liked Flowers and Drivers outside of those stories, that's why they were smash hits and both spent 8 weeks at #1.

Wasn't a MAGA song supposed to debut for high this week? Yeah, it debuted at 16 this week, don't expect this to last long. Once the sales, dry up, it's over. Side note, I can't wait Spectrum Pulse to drop Billboard Breakdown and this gets a well-deserved all caps WOTW. Drivers License did not go to 1 because of external celebrity drama.

Doesn’t have a chorus. It’s not going to be a chart smash for months regardless of how well received it is. Not sure why anyone who heard the song would even suggest it should have a chart run like Flowers….probably one of the craziest posts of all time. This song was a response track to drama and once again solidfying her as a rapper. She handled both flawlessly.

She handled both flawlessly. my response was to this: "...funny how Hiss is the only one people harp on." and my point is that people probably never complained about Flowers and drivers license because those backstories didn't carry their entire chart run, only helped, which you can't say about HISS (so far). Never compared Flowers and HISS, and they potential for airplay success, longevity or whatever. and it doesn't matter at the end, #1 is a #1.

Hiss is not meant to even be a radio single or such. She handled both flawlessly. my response was to this: "...funny how Hiss is the only one people harp on." and my point is that people probably never complained about Flowers and drivers license because those backstories didn't carry their entire chart run, only helped, which you can't say about HISS (so far). Never compared Flowers and HISS, and they potential for airplay success, longevity or whatever. and it doesn't matter at the end, #1 is a #1. But your point is kinda pointless because 1. The person pointed out that nobody discredited Flowers/Drivers **first weeks when they debuted #1** largely in part due to celeb drama like they are with Hiss. How they performed later on doesn’t address the point raised if the point is specifically in reference to debuts. Nobody knew how those songs would do in the long run after only the first week. 2. Again, HISS simply isn’t a radio record that can be expected to have a huge chart life long term. The fact it did what it did already in spite of that is the win. It shouldn’t need to spend 8 weeks #1 and chart high for a huge portion of the year to be a proven success for the artist when that was never really realistic when you listen to the song itself.

Notable Gain:#28. Muni Long - Made For Me (+16) Ooh got that top 40 30 hit! Yes! I feel like it was one of the biggest non-top 40 hits ever in terms of how well known it was at the time of charting. It's great to see it finally becoming a technical Hot 100 hit.

I think people would discredit them if they both went from #1 to #8 in a week, or something. Didn't pay attention, but those talks probably started after people saw the Spotify performance in the last 2-3 days and early TOTC prediction. 2. Agree with this part, the song did its thing and the fact it's Megan's first top 10 after WAP is already a big win, and she definitely needs to release something mainstream in the next month or so, because the hype won't last forever.

Yeah, I can't see radio blasting HISS for months like they did Flowers. It's more similar to a buzz single in that sense; it was meant to generate noise which it already did in a way no one expected. She needs to move on to something more rhythmic-infused soon.

Top 10s of 1994 & 1999 are great! Love 95% of songs there on both But also 1989 with Paula #1! That 1989 top ten with Paula, Tiffany, and Samantha Fox all in it together!?! All it’s missing is Debbie Gibson!!!

Yeah you can't really expect a genuine rap track with no pop hook to really sustain itself for months at the top. It did more than what it was supposed to originally IMO. I'd argue as long as it does well on Rhythmic/Urban radio it accomplished all it possibly could! A huge win (and a lesson for Nicki IMO).
