K I've been very busy this week & I've always been away from my computer during reveals, so I'll catch up a bit now

- Sick of U was so much worse on relisten than I had remembered it being. I hope that's the end of BoyWithUke on alt

- I 100% would have loved this FIR Last Resort cover in high school. I feel a bit embarrassed about that, but at the same time, I think there is some remnant of my high school stuff still buried deep down in my psyche that keeps me from hating this as much as I feel I should (it was still my #98)

- Lowlife is so fucking bad

- "this sounds like a sentient bud light can" is so funny & so accurate

- I don't hate Stuck, sorry. As much as I want to hate Jared Leto's pop career in 2024, idk, I think the verses are pretty good & the chorus is...ok. It's just the loud annoying "BRRRA DA DA DA DA" bits that really suck.

- If memory serves, I said some kind of vile things about Cut Deep by Matt Maeson actually being really good in the thread for that song, and if I did I apologize, I don't know what I was thinking that day.

- On the sliding scale of Dirty Heads song quality, Rescue Me is kind of squarely in the middle. I think the chorus is pretty good actually, verses are bad. Also literally never picked up on this being a RHCP interpolation until Gates mentioned it here lol

- Holy fuck what happened to The Struts. I think retrospectively, I don't like their "classic" stuff as much as I did when it was new, but at least like, they had a vision in the Everybody Wants era. I don't know what they're going for on their most recent singles at all, but John Strut's voice is shot. Fallin with Me is unlistenable, what were they thinking

- Unlovable is like *almost* there for me, but there's something about that song that just rubs me the wrong way. Glad that Sex Drugs Etc. finished higher. I have a feeling we won't see this band on the alt charts again, idk they just kinda have that "2-hit wonder" vibe

- Idk, I've mostly messed with ATL's most recent singles (I love Sleepwalking), but Calm Down is a flop for me. It's just so damn boring

- I'm a little delulu about PATD maybe, but I still stand by liking all their items through Death of a Bachelor. Hated Viva Las Vengeance, but Don't Let the Light Go Out is...ok enough. That said, I'm glad that Brendon pulled the plug on PATD here, the time is right.

- (I'm kind of a big fan of Bad Things...and Deep End)

- Snap had an almost perfectly Gaussian arc for me. Thought it was bad stomp & holler on first couple listens, grew to like it enough to chart it at the end of 2022, a year out and...it's SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN bad stomp & holler. I think I might have overranked a bit at #52 honestly

- I have mixed feelings about All Caps, but as you can see, I did rank it at #44 so, you can see how the mix ended up shaking out. It's just too catchy

- Romantic Homicide deserved better here (and Here with Me & The Bridge deserved better on the charts  )

- I hate the cover art for Supernatural sooooooo much

- Cool to see The Used get an alt hit in 2024

- Here, I'll say something about Raw Raw since no one else will--I forgot that K Flay had a song chart in 2024

- Ok, there was some RedLetterMedia video where they talked about Billy Corgan eating chips on stage during a concert & critiqued the music video for Beguiled, and it was so funny, but I have no idea what video that bit was from.

I really loved the vocal works from both parties here. Not really into Cell Phone themed songs, but this hit the spot. This song had mad staying power on the charts. I even got a chance to chart it really late in its chart run.

Limp coma inducing Alternative ballads are not my thing . d4vd .I'm still not sure which is the title and which is the song?

66. Tame Impala - Wings Of Time
I kinda dropped the ball on this one. Should've charted it. BTW that movie totally butchered the game I grew up playing.

65. New West - Those Eyes
These Alt ballads are the equivalent to Hair Metal Powerballads. They are all over the chart and you either loved them or hated them. Tiktok ,and viral doesn't impress me at all. Give me the song that only has 100 views. I'll chart that one.

64. Mike Shinoda and Kailee Morgue - In My Head
Too elektro creepy for me. Did Kylie Minogue throw a new alias at us for this travesty? Plus Mike Shinoda just couldn't resist his signature raping in the song.

I like this one. It has attitude and groove. Also Luke Spiller wants his image back.

2000's Popunk Comfort zone. Why would I ever leave it.

Cool bassline. Good slot for it. Didn't know it was about the wild thing.

Nice mix of Metal ,and good old Smashing Pumpkins vibes.

Passable Blue October material. I'm still spinning "I Hope You're Happy" on a regular basis.

Kinda boring from a band I was charting on a regular basis a some years back. Where's the cowbell?

Reggaeton has ruined Reggae for me so much I can't even enjoy the genre anymore.

56. YUNGBLUD - Tissues
Really enjoyed this one. So upbeat and fun. Surely made my favorite songs of 2023 list.
