Music has….always……cost….money??? Did you literally forget what we were talking about? Taylor’s music isn’t being offered for free? You can listen to Taylor’s music with any ol’ Spotify subscription, Apple Music, or listen to it for free on her accounts on YouTube. You do not have to pay a single cent more on April 19th to listen to the new Taylor Swift album than you did on April 18th. What is not free, exactly? That's what I was referring to. It was a clarification that Spotify does cost money after you said it was free. Nothing deeper than that. Sorry for correcting you? I guess? It seems like you're literally just looking for something to argue about. It's impressive how determined you are to argue with people. I once complimented Taylor's writing as being impressively detailed and you called me out for that saying she wasn't that special in that regard. People now are commenting on the release tactics and you're criticizing them for that. It's like you HAVE to argue with people over anything and it's not only that you're disagreeing with them, you're unnecessarily defensive as if they're out to get you. It's okay that we disagree on the subject. Anyway, there's not much else to say. We've all made our points. You can carry on if you want. I feel like the rest of us are okay to agree to disagree.

Feel free to post receipts because Taylor’s writing is incredibly impressively detailed; I vaguely recall debating something about her writing with you, but, the little I recall you absolutely mischaracterized my position.

Thank you. That was getting...exhausting and literally going nowhere.
1. Folklore 2. Red 3. Midnights 4. Lover 5. Reputation 6. 1989 7. Evermore (Slid pretty far down, but still very strong) 8. Speak Now 9. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift (which I still haven't heard in full, btw)

10. Taylor Swift (which I still haven't heard in full, btw) GIRL! I know even she doesn’t acknowledge her debut as much, but it’s full of country JAMS! As for an album ranking, that’s always felt impossible for me to do. She has one of the best discographies of all time imo, but my Top 3 that I always come back to is evermore, Red, and Speak Now, in that order. I have a strong hunch based on how she’s described it that TTPD is going to be the #1 once the stanning experience of it all dies down in my system.

Yeah, I was not a country fan in the slightest back then, except for Shania, and I particularly was critical of Taylor's vocals pretty much up to Speak Now (and even then, I really didn't appreciate them until she started really working on them for Red and beyond), so I am probably the most excited for her revisiting her debut, so I can hear it with stronger vocals.

Compared with my previous ranking from September: 1. Reputation 2. Midnights 3. Evermore 4. 1989 (+5) 5. Red 6. Fearless 7. Speak Now 8. Folklore (-4) 9. Lover (-1) 10. Debut I feel like it's mostly solidified at this point, the only one I can see potentially moving is Debut post-TV.

Doing this based on number of tracks I've added to my S Tier playlist:
1. Midnights (13; includes 3am tracks, HD, YLM) 2. folklore (10) 3. 1989 (10; includes vault) 4. evermore (8) 5. Lover (7; includes AOTGYLB) 6. Red (7; includes S&S) 6. Speak Now (6; includes ICSY) 8. Fearless (4) 9. reputation (3) 10. Debut (2)
Midnights sort of "wins" given the sheer volume of tracks associated with the era. But in terms of the most cohesive album, it is folklore without a doubt.
I've spent the least time with Debut, reputation, and Speak Now so I'm not shocked those are all lower. And I must have really hated Red TV - all of the songs on my playlist are from the original with the exception of ATW-10 lol.

Folklore 1989 Reputation Midnights Evermore Lover Red Speak Now Fearless Taylor Swift
Before 1989, I only really heard Taylor's singles. Never listened to an album. I really like Speak Now in particular (the TV helped me discover it), I just didn't 'experience' it (or even Red, really) like I did the others. I also haven't fully listened to her debut, ha.
Folklore is definitely her most 'album' album to me and the highest quality. 1989 has incredible highs but some awful lows, Reputation as well - the highs are enough though. I'm surprised by how much I like throwing Midnights on as an album given there isn't much that sticks out, but it's a good vibe. Evermore is great, it just didn't hit for me like those above it. Tempted to put Lover even lower... again a handful of great highs, I'm indifferent to most of it though.

1. Midnights 2. Folklore 3. 1989 4. Reputation 5. Evermore 6. Lover 7. Red 8. Speak Now 9. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift
It’s wild to me that ATW is on Red as I really don’t feel like the rest of the album lives up to it. It’s still overall a great album though. There is a huge gap for me between #7 and the rest. Midnights sits comfortably at the top. It’s absolutely a vibe that I’m always here for.

Constantly changing for me but as it stands right now
1. 1989 TV 2. Midnights 3. Lover 4. reputation 5. folklore 6. Red TV 7. Speak Now TV 8. evermore 9. Fearless TV 10. Taylor Swift
Lover has quietly made its way into my Top 3 after me skipping over it for 3 years ☠️ let's see how TTPD and rep TV will affect my rankings

1. Lover 2. Folklore 3. Evermore 4. 1989 5. Midnights 6. Red
Ranking only the ones I know. I’m saving Reputation for the TV. Midnights and 1989 have both grown on me a lot more since last year but I suspect my top 3 will remain my top 3 forevermore.

Rank
1). Folklore (Don't think she can ever top this) 2). Red 3). 1989 4). Midnights 3AM (the bonus tracks propel this album). 5). Evermore (always wonder if this sister album was released first - if my opinion would be different.
6). Lover 7). Reputation 8). Speak Now 9). Fearless 10). Taylor Swift

Ranking her music is just so hard but I gave it my best shot Agreed. It's all perfect and depends on my mood. If I was to try to rank it though (excluding Debut as I haven't heard it, I only found her when Love Story came out and didn't listen to full albums until Reputation), I would rank it as so: 1. Evermore 2. Folklore 3. Lover 4. Speak Now (the vault is PERFECTION!) 5. Fearless 6. Red 7. Reputation 8. 1989 9. Midnights But I still love Midnights, so the ranking doesn't mean a whole lot. I guess it's more what I find myself going back to more

1. Folklore 2. 1989 3. Lover Repeat Favorites
4. Red 5. Reputation(one of the few that love this album)
6. Speak Now 7. Midnights 8. Evermore(No Body, No Crime is the highlight)
9. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift
I’m a sucker for Folklore and to me it’s the perfect Taylor album.
I don’t fuc.k with the bottom 2, although You Belong to Me & Love Story(TV) are faves.

It's interesting seeing how many have Folklore or Evermore high but the other low. For me, they're one and the same

On first listen I didn't care much for Evermore outside of Ivy and No Body No Crime. Then all of a sudden it hit me, and I don't think there is one song on the album I don't like/love (funnily, No Body No Crime is probably my least favourite now)

I have two rankings that are objective and subjective and personal, and the personal one is constantly changing. My personal ranking is…
01. evermore 02. midnights 03. Lover 04. folklore 05. Red 06. Speak Now 07. 1989 08. reputation 09. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift
Lover was my #1 for a LONG TIME but the older I get, the more I’m vibing folklore/evermore as those align with my personal music taste the most. Lover is also as high as it is for personal reasons - I think it’s her least cohesive album. Midnights is also wonderful but I’m burnt out a bit on it. I don’t really enjoy her first two albums and I do find rep to be mostly cringe.
Objectively, folklore is her best and most cohesive album. evermore has higher highs than folklore but it’s not as even. I think 1989 is probably a near-perfect pop record and Red is a stunning piece of work. I’d also say Fearless is an incredibly strong true mainstream debut especially for a teenager. Midnights is great but not her very best. Speak Now is underrated despite a few cringe moments - it was an important album for her trajectory. Rep and Lover have a lot of cringe. The debut is…fine. So objectively….
01. folklore 02. 1989 03. Red 04. Midnights 05. Fearless 06. Speak Now 07. evermore 08. Taylor Swift 09. Lover 10. reputation
I do think TTPD will wind up being my personal #1 considering the subject topics. I am so so excited.

This is hard and like splitting hairs, but there's something about Red for me that's so captivating. I think it's because I never listened to it until after the era was over and finally understood the genius of her songwriting and composing.
1. Red 2. 1989 3. evermore 4. Reputation 5. Speak Now 6. folklore 7. midnights 8. Lover 9. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift

Wow. And I thought this is where I'd find scoop on TTPD since I was last week. Instead ppl fighting over multiple versions and, yet another, album ranking.
This thread should be retitled: Taylor Swift - General Discussion + B!tching. Sad.

It’s been quiet in Taylor land and I think people are allowed to discuss whatever they want in this thread if it’s Taylor-related and innocent. I for one enjoy the rankings and the debates. Sorry to that user!
