Honestly she should drop that Xmas record she did and slap the Taylor's Version sticker on to it and Xmas Tree Farm. It'd be creatively boring as fuck but it would sell easily.

If Taylor wasn’t gonna perform at the VMAs, I woulda loved for her to win an award and be like “and to thank you, here’s the debut of the MV for my new single ‘Down Bad’”

Nothing to announce today either mmmh. She wouldn't drop without a big preorder window so at this stage the Rep TV prayer circle can pack it up until next year I think lol. Yeah unless she announces at her October shows for a December release then I think she'll wait till the Spring. I would be shocked if she doesn't have something out for the holiday season though, it's a long shot but maybe she'll release Anthology CDs and vinyl. This. My bet is that she's saving Rep TV for the spring to put out physicals of The Anthology to boost Xmas sales.

The longer this goes the longer it just appears the simplest answer is the right one. She does a softer era (Fearless / Speak Now) before a bigger one (RED / 1989) in off years after a studio record. That's why I suspect debut in the Spring (when she closes out TTPD with Grammy season) and Rep with a radio single in Q4 2025.
She is going to take much deserved time off next year, so this pattern just makes sense for her to stay "relevant" without overexposure. Then 2026 she will slay again with a studio record (is likely her thought process).
The REP clowning is just...too much at this point. She wasn't going to announce or drop something on 9/11.

Somewhat unrelated but I wish she would rework one of the songs from this (or any for that matter) album when she picks a single. We immediately think “collab” or “dance mix” when we hear the word “remix” but I really loved what she had done with “Wildest Dreams” (added elements) and “Bad Blood” (entirely new production). Perhaps one of the better choices left for third single could benefit from this.

I kinda want "Don't Blame Me" launched (maybe with a slightly altered mix to beef up the og even more) with a gothic, sexy, high-budget visual to boot. That's just me dreaming tho. In all likelihood we'll get a vault song (that best be epic, given she could easily write a new song in the style of Rep and claim it's a leftover). lol

I've been listening to my version of TTPD so much that I've decided to listen to the full version. Good God, The Manuscript is so awful. The lyrics and rhyming are so bad. I'd nearly saw worse than Robin

REP could be a moment and we're overdue for something more fun-ish and some better visuals after TTPD but her approach to the TVs has been way more muted and honestly kinda confusing at times... (now explain to me why Speak Now gets a video yet her best opening to date at that point, 1989 TV, including a radio #1 gets... nothing).

I think her schedule just has been jammed pack with the Eras Tour and Movie and re-recording albums and releasing new material. Let alone her spending more time with Travis and traveling for his games. I actually can’t wait til the tour is over so she’ll have more time to promote

Oh for sure but it's still weird her last two radio #1 hits had no video and were also basically forced by demand instead of her team having any sort of clue of what people want as a single lol. Honestly even with TTPD which y'all know it's not an album I like, I think they could have cooked better than Fortnight into Broken Heart in terms of singles.

Not only is its chorus melodically so similar to the material on Fearless/Speak Now and something I could easily hear Maroon 5 or the like on in 2007, but it's more on par lyrically with a much younger Swift than the grown, matured savant of a lyricist we know today. I mean people question due to its theme, but c'mon, her image has always been heavily fine-tuned, it isn't out of the realm of possibility for me to believe she was having sexual thoughts and exploring them lyrically but felt it was too provocative for her audience at the time (given everything Taylor Swift releases that could theoretically impact the pristine girl next door image she held for so long is so carefully constructed from the inclusion of her first curse word to her lyrically taking her relationships from innocent young flirtation to full-fledged adult relationship). I'd be more convinced a cut like "Nothing New" is newly written over "I Can See You". No way Taylor wrote that lyrically simplistic/mediocre of a song in 2022/2023.

Oh I do believe it was written, at least around 75% of it, during SN OG; but the production is nothing like what she was cooking back then so I'm sure if we ever get a demo of the OG cut song it's gonna sound very different. I also don't fully believe ATW10M is as it was during RED OG; she fined tuned it and rewrote some of it, I'm sure.
I'm not saying she's a liar; a lot of these vault songs were cut for a reason, and some of them were probably just very rough and unfinished. They couldn't just be "covered" with new vocals and call it a day.

i pressed play on Lavendar Haze just as the clock struck midnight. There's something wonderfully poetic about that and the album hits so well this late at night.

I definitely feel the 1989 Vault tracks weren’t from 2014. I know they’re modern day production so we can’t judge them too much, but listening to the album on shuffle they stand out so much. The lyrics are way more ‘advanced’ or ‘complex’ compared to the rest of the album and sound more like modern day Taylor VS Taylor ten years ago. I think the only potential one is Slut. Even the themes of Is It Over Now and Now That We Don’t Talk don’t fit the lovey dovey theme of the rest of the album. It’s the only album of the four so far that I’m “hmmmm” about

It’s the only album of the four so far that I’m “hmmmm” about I could see that honestly. I feel like I could easily believe she wrote like "Suburban Legends", "Now That We Don't Talk", and "Slut" newly. "Say Don't Go" (which should have made the standard 1989) and "Is It Over Now?" sounds as if they were written for 1989 though, as with "Is It Over Now?" it's essentially lyrically and production-wise a duplicate of "Out Of The Woods" and I could easily see her choosing the stronger of the two to include on the og tracklisting while "Say Don't Go" was co-written with Warren so most-likely older and it sounds a bit dated as well. I'm still mad "Now That We Don't Talk" wasn't extended and seated in Midnights. That would have made an excellent single. Like imagine: 1.) "Anti-Hero" 2.) "Now That We Don't Talk" 3.) "Maroon" 4.) "Karma" Huge.

Didn’t she claim that it was Blank Space VS Slut and she went with the former, too? She did! =) On a random note, for some odd reason I have a feeling The Tortured Poets Department is going to have a sense of being snubbed this year at the Grammys in terms of nominations. Not that it won't receive any, but I just have a feeling many fans are going to be disappointed and feel it's underrepresented. Obviously could be wrong given this is just a hunch, but yeah. lol Random AF, but if you all could pick one song from each album/era to experience a "Cruel Summer" like resurgence, which song would it be? Mine are: Debut: N/A (IDC really lol) Fearless: "Forever & Always" Speak Now: "Enchanted" Red: "22" 1989: "All You Had To Do Was Stay" or "Say Don't Go" Reputation: "Don't Blame Me" Lover: "I Think He Knows" or "Miss Americana" Folklore: "This Is Me Trying" or "Mirrorball" Evermore: "Cowboy Like Me" or "Right Where You Left Me" Midnights: "Would've Could've Should've" The Tortured Poets Department: "Down Bad", "The Bolter", or "The Tortured Poets Department"

Her reinterpretations of things are usually wonderful.

I hate to say this, but I'm such a vault track truther. At least a third of ATW10 was written in 2022. Do we really think her 10-15 min riffing in 2011 that was recorded contained the utter lyrical brilliance that song has? No. And you know what? IDGAF. The myth building is so fantastic that it's beside the point, and who are we to be annoying about it when it's some of the best music she's ever produced.

Taylor Swift - "A Place in This World"
Fearless (TV) - "Mr. Perfectly Fine"
Speak Now (TV) - "Enchanted"
Red (TV) - "Haunted"
1989 (TV) - "I Know Places"
reputation - "I Did Something Bad"
Lover - "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince"
folklore - "the lakes"
evermore - "champagne problems"
Midnights - "Maroon"
TTPD - "So Long, London"
Some are my favorites from the album and some are ones I think deserved to be singles.
