Trump just tweeted: I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!
He’s so intimidated by powerful women. What a loser.

I certainly hope they will increase security measures for the upcoming shows.

^^ that part. Suddenly I’m okay with not having tickets to any Indy shows, as they’re the last of the US shows and take place the exact weekend before the election.

I think a lot of people don't realize just how bigger Lover (the album and song) is. With 11.2 Billion streams, it's now the 11th most-streamed album of all time. It's fixing to outstream When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and will then be aiming for Future Nostalgia. That's insane to me. Lover went literally from a supposed decline to being one of the top 3 most successful albums of her career. That's crazy. Then you have "Lover" the song with 1.5 BILLION streams, just shy of "Anti-Hero". One of the biggest flips I've ever seen for an era. lol

You could say this about every album with a hit song, but Cruel Summer probably plays a huge part of that. I wonder where it would rank without it

I wonder where it would rank without it Well, obviously it played a role, but even the streams of "Lover" at 1.5 Billion are insane. It's more than "Cruel Summer" at this point boosting the album. I mean 1.5 Billion streams are the kinda streams a #1 has. lol "Hello" by Adele has 1.5 billion streams for example. So does "Old Town Road". "You Need To Calm Down" is also about to pass 1 Billion. And it must be noted that it took both the performance of "Cruel Summer" boosting numbers AND the precedent collective performance of the album to obtain its now impressive total. Neither of which on its own would have surmounted to as an impressive a feat as it is now.

"Lover" has very impressive streams for a song I haven't heard anywhere outside my headphones in probably 3 years. I don't willingly listen to it much either.

Oh wow, I didn't know Lover was so high. What's especially impressive too is how high All Of The Girls You Loved is! Granted, half of those streams are from me

I'm still mad at myself for thinking Lover the song was gonna be a classic. I still adore it but it's more or less a hidden gem nowadays from her discography. The streams are v. impressive though.

I absolutely think it's well on its way to being a Taylor classic. Classics aren't always determined by chart peaks/performance and with this song's streams and it's porported use as a wedding staple I could easily see it building into a classic long-term! In terms of streams alone it's already a very successful hit for Taylor. Also, how is it a "hidden gem" in her discography? lol Wouldn't "hidden" imply barely no one knows about it?

Why are False God and I Think He Knows so low though? I need to go stream them some more to help lift those totals

And to go from that “I hope I never lose you” riff to “and I lost you” in maroon is one of her best overall musical moments IMO. It makes maroon hit even harder and it already hit so hard!

"Cornelia Street" and "Death By A Thousand Cuts" I think are the underrated gems on Lover. "False God" I could really never super attached to, I think the more mellow sound is fine with me but something about the structure of the song feels off. Not a skip for me but I'm not seeking it out.

Not a skip for me but I'm not seeking it out. I love them all! The thing about Lover is, as good as nearly the whole album is, I find I spend much of the first half patiently anticipating CS and DBATCs and from there, I spent the next couple songs patiently waiting for FG. They're the deluxe highlights on an album packed full of highlights.

The biggest issue with "Lover" to me is one specific line.
We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January And this is our place, we make the rules
Makes no sense to me. I have heard of almost no one who takes Christmas lights down before January to begin with LOL and the way it is worded, it is making it seem by making their own rules they are keeping them up super long or longer than normal. Hell, many people leave them up even longer than that to laziness. But that period between Dec 25-Jan 1, most people are hung over, partying with family/friends/etc. and it makes sense as Christmas is technically still celebrated all through that last week anyway. It is not out of the ordinary for Christmas lights to be up on Jan 1 or even into January. LOL it just always has drove me insane with that line.

I have not been to a wedding that hasn't played Lover in I don't know how long. It is a wedding staple.

I have not been to a wedding that hasn't played Lover in I don't know how long. It is a wedding staple. Been to several weddings since Lover dropped and not a single time was Lover played, including from a massive Swiftie. It may be a staple specifically among the Swifties in your circle, but doesn't make a song a "wedding staple." Love the song tho!

It makes maroon hit even harder and it already hit so hard! Add even more on top that it's the same BPM as You're Losing Me and the pauses in the two songs complement each other, and it's just *insert ugly crying gif*

Cornelia and DBATC being middle-lower in the stream count makes ZERO sense to me.

I could maybe understand Cornelia Street being more of a deep cut, but she's done several performances of DBATC (Tiny Desk, Paris, 5x on the Eras Tour). I would have thought it'd be quite a bit bigger.

I would have thought it'd be quite a bit bigger. To be fair the DBATC live from Paris acoustic is quite a popular version, so I’m sure a lot of its streams go there instead of the album cut.
