The Usher numbers are in line with most legacy acts.
Jennifer Lopez's debut not even beating Fuerza Regida's old ass album is laughable. I like her but those numbers are really, really sad to look at.

The Usher numbers are in line with most legacy acts. Yup. Unless you have a streaming hit on your hands to keep an album afloat, these kinds of drops are expected. Jennifer's numbers are certainly underwhelming despite having SNL promo + the Amazon film, but in fairness, she has never been an "albums" artist. Even in her prime, her most certified album is only 4x platinum. That said, I can't believe her label didn't re-certify her catalogue upon this release. Some of these certifications date back over 20-25 years! |

But he just performed at the freakin' Super Bowl, and the highest-rated one at that!! Plus, he does have a more moderately-sized current hit in Good Good. To put it in perspective, even Hard II Love (at which time he could also be considered a legacy act) held much better position-wise, charting 5-20-40 its first three weeks, and that was only with the much smaller hit No Limit, and well, no Super Bowl performance. It's hard to say this isn't a shocking disappointment. It's possible if he just performed even one song from his new album at the Super Bowl it would have helped (I bet the majority of people didn't even know he has a new album out), but honestly I'm not sure that would've helped that much.
