I will name a few times this happened. Two or more different artists hitting the chart with songs of the same title in the same year. Here are some examples.
2003 The song title "Breathe" hit the chart a total of 3 times that year. By the following artists. Blu Cantrell Telepopmusik Michelle Branch
1994 The song title "Always" produced 2 big hits. By these artists. Erasure Bon Jovi
Any other times this happened?

Wilson Phillips had the #1 song of the year and En Vogue were #8.

"9 to 5" by Dolly Parton Sheena Easton
(In the U.S. and Canada, Sheena's version was released under the new title "Morning Train (Nine to Five)" to avoid confusion.)

1971: "Superstar" by the Carpenters and the Temptations (the Tempts' song was subtitled "Remember How You Got Where You Are")
1979: "Crazy Love" by Poco and the Allman Brothers Band.
1986: "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz and Stevie Nicks.
1994: "Dreams" by Gabrielle (carried over from 1993) and the Cranberries.
