Local station played a clip from it and were speculating he is taking shots at Tyler.

Eh just seems petty if it’s a dig. Just makes you seem still bothered releasing songs about it. Meanwhile Tyler has been sending every solo release so far to #1.

It's weird if it is a dig as I always assumed that Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard got along even after parting ways a couple years ago now as Tyler Hubbard in all the radio interviews I have heard has nothing but positive things to say about FGL and Brian. I'll reserve judgement until I hear the song itself, but I am not the most optimistic.

If it is a dig it is likely jealousy over the success Tyler is having.

I'll reserve judgement until I hear the song itself, but I am not the most optimistic. They don't, and it is aimed at Tyler. Anyway, the song sound great based on the clip. I love BK, so much better than Tyler IMO.

Well based on the caption it sounds like he wrote the song as a therapeutic outlet with no intention of it being a single, but Big Machine decided to go with it for his next radio release. It's interesting to see what drama and buzz this release drums up given the context, lol. That said, it'll probably go over a lot of people's heads because not everyone is going to think to connect those dots.

This song is out now and wow….. I have mixed emotions. Knowing who the song is about kinda taints it in a way for me, as I’m more of a Tyler Hubbard fan based more on who they are as people. That said I recently had a long time best friend (14 years) end his friendship with me out of the blue, and this song definitely echoes what I’m feeling more than anything I’ve heard. I may not like knowing who the song is about, but I actually really like this song.

Absolutely love this! I was never a FGL or Tyler Hubbard fan so I don’t really care about that aspect of the lyrics, but the lyrics themselves are actually not bad. Musically tho this is a home run.

This is absolutely horribly produced.

The FGL drama makes me sad but at least they’re both putting out great music. Love this on first listen.

The production could have been better, and I wish the topic was not the FGL conflict, but I still really enjoy the melody and lyrics of the song. One of the strongest outputs from BK.

I agree about the production - this sounds like a rushed demo.

I loved the melody so much I didn't even notice the subpar production but since it has been pointed out yes, it definitely sound a bit demo-ish. Not enough to deter me from the song tho.

The album is called Tennessee Truth, and he says it like 19 times in the song, including in a verse AND the chorus. So why isn't the song titled that?
Anyway, with some more listens I don't even hear a hit here. But I have been wrong so much so it'll probably spend 11 weeks at #1.

Wow if this had better production it would be so great. Also how he sings the title doesn’t have enough bite.

I can’t stand Tyler he was the reason I hated FGL. and, I enjoyed a few of Brian’s solo releases. I thought he couldn’t do worse than that last song he put out trucks ducks…. Whatever it was called. but, here we are what in the hell is this song. the lamest diss track ever. the chorus is horrible. and, I agree the title of the song should be Tennessee Truth. with as how much he says it more than kiss my boots in the song. the whole “Im crankin Hank drinkin jack and you can kiss my boots” line makes no sense and sounds dumb af.

Kiss my Boots is such a dumb and corny turn of phrase. Everything about this screams “please, somebody, anybody look at me”
And it’s only going to get worse as he fades further into obscurity with every failed single.

Did not really notice the production cause I was distracted by the killer melody, aka the most important part of a song imo. This is really good.
