It is really surprising how Ariana seems to be holding really well and this album might be a solid hit for her. This is a little surprising for me, as she did seem to be an aging pop star on a downward trend, and I have never been the strongest fan of either her songs or voice, but I guess for whatever reason the public will still support her with the right material and she still has the goods. It is really cool to see when pop stars make such a drastic turnaround, when everyone had practically written her off literally after day one of the album release, and now on to just three days later, it's looking like she might smash with a #1 debut single!

Regardless of how you feel about Ariana or the album, you gotta admit it is so refreshing seeing a music video/live performance drive (or at least be a large part of) the success of a post-album single. It really seemed like music videos were kind of dead and had only become for the novelty of it all for most artists, so I’m personally living for this!

The comments weren't wrong. The album's day 1 numbers were objectively lackluster. Also, if the current single hadn't taken off over the weekend, things would not be looking great as it's that track that is holding the album up. Also some of the comments after day 1 made specific note of things depending how the album held up.

I wouldn't say WCBF is holding up the entire album. Every song besides interlude/intro managed to rise in positions or stay stable on the Spotify update . the boy is mine, yes and, bye, and eternal sunshine are also smashing with or without the impact of WCBF!

Theres no WCBF remixes(?). But the Music video and live performance are doing pretty decent numbers on Youtube which could pull ahead for Spotify/Apple Music. And I'd guess it would equal or atleast have more points in radio than Carnival.

I was definitely in the camp that saw those first day numbers and thought 'yikes', so I'm so happy to be proven wrong. 'Yes, And?' has turned out to be the most polarizing/misleading relative bomb of a lead single since 'ME!', so how were we to know?

Wonder if 'The Boy Is Mine' can squeak over the finish line into the top ten if the album keeps trending up. Nothing I hate more than a #11 peak.

WBCF (WFYL) is definitely the first song in a while that has benefited from a SNL performance to debut at #1 in the Hot 100. I guess this is finally could be the week that both Snooze and Cruel Summer leave the top 10 for good. Also, Flowers should be going finally going recurrent. And if Saturn Returns Interlude is allowed to chart then it would be the shortest song to chart at 42 seconds long beating PPAP by 3 seconds.
