The comments weren't wrong. The album's day 1 numbers were objectively lackluster. Also, if the current single hadn't taken off over the weekend, things would not be looking great as it's that track that is holding the album up. Also some of the comments after day 1 made specific note of things depending how the album held up.

Not sure where the logic in WCBF holding up the rest of the album is coming from considering the whole thing is continuing to do very well. People were too quick to call it a flop and it’s a good lesson to not let first day numbers decide shit, nothing else too it!

Apparently Youtube is what’s putting WCBF over the edge. The music video has been #1 trending since its release. That being said, Ari’s team probably just wants to be safe in case #’s are bad tomorrow.

Carnival isn't in contention anymore; if anything it's Lose Control that's a threat due to its relentless bot sales by Warner desperately trying to get it to #1.

What Spotify doesn't show you is how many streams are "free" - everything is unweighted. Carnival has much fewer paid Spotify streams given it's a TikTok (read: young) hit. And Ariana's Amazon streams are enough to cancel out Kanye's Apple advantage.

So, while Carnival is projected to have 1M more audio streams than WCBF, it only has 200 points of audio, while Ariana has 213 points of audio despite having 1M fewer audio-only streams. And of course, Ariana has like 4x more video streams, 5x more sales, and only a few points less radio.

Theres no WCBF remixes(?). But the Music video and live performance are doing pretty decent numbers on Youtube which could pull ahead for Spotify/Apple Music. And I'd guess it would equal or atleast have more points in radio than Carnival.

So live performances count for the Hot 100? I ask because they don't for the RIAA, but that's obviously a different group. I didn't realize that, and now I see more why the song has the lead it does. It also makes me surprised labels/teams haven't used videos of live performances more to boost singles.
