After one listen, my favorite song is probably "Glitter." I also really liked the fiddle work in "Drink You Off My Mind" and the appropriately homespun melody of "Everything I Need." I wasn't always impressed by the writing, which seems to be inspired by a lot of stock outlaw/hard living tropes, but Beckham's rougher delivery does a lot of heavy lifting to sell the sentiments well enough. There's a couple of cheesy hooks ("Waylon in '75," "Smoking Weed and Drinkin' Whiskey"), but overall this was a pretty good listen.

After 3 spins this is overall a nice album but doesn't stand out really. If anything it shows just how good "23" was as that is by far the most interesting song here. I'll echo zack97 that "Glitter" is probably my favorite, and "Everything I Need" is a good choice for single. The title track is among the songs that are catching my ear as well. I don't hear an artist I'm particularly interested in sticking around, but there's just enough potential shown that I won't be mad if he finds a lane. |

Kinda surprised "Little Less Lonely" isn't on the album. Not only do I like the song, but it was released digitally at the end of Aug.
