A 13th album track with zero promotional push and no featured artists did THAT in the streaming era. This is honestly the most impressive feat TTPD has pulled off this week, that’s a true hit right there.

I get the appeal of this song and have always understood its hit potential, but if released, it's definitely not gonna be one of my fav singles from Taylor.

It definitely is heavy on the cruel summer stadium anthem factor, though it doesn’t have the mass appeal of CS and is more “for the swifties.” But she could probably get it to #1 with a real push. No doubt it’s going to be a *moment* on the next tour leg.

Instead of what? I’m confused lol. Ideally, Bejeweled would have been the 4th proper single and Midnight Rain would have replaced LH if we’re talking that era though.

I have the complete opposite opinion lol."Bejeweled" is one of my least favorite songs from 'Midnights' and "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" is my favorite from 'TTPD'.

I've always loved the sad lyrics / dancey production contradiction in music but sadly I don't like the production in the chorus. It does sound like "Bejeweled" but I find that song playful and cheeky whereas here it sounds a bit childish. I hope there's a radio edit that makes it more "Supercut". It would still be in the theme of the song.

I do agree it’s not a lyrical highlight overall, but that doesn’t always matter much when we’re talking hit potential. The “lights camera bitch smile” lyric is really jarring to me though, just kinda comes outta nowhere.

Lights camera bitch smile is so good because it captures:

- The literal “bitch smile” you’re supposed to put on when you’re a pop star commanding a stage
- “bitch smile” when you’re talking to someone you loathe, but you plaster a smile on
- “bitch, smile” is your inner monologue to yourself when you’re having trouble suppressing your feelings
- “bitch, smile” is the demands of a crowd always wanting “MORE!” from you

Agreed. "Bejeweled" always sounded way more radio-friendly to me over "Karma" and "Lavender Haze." Especially due to the "nice."

I get Bejeweled and Mastermind to a lesser extent. With Mastermind being superior to both these songs.

Production is decent, but I'm not coming back to this much. Don't love the lyrics.

Also team Down Bad for single #2. Less jarring imo.
