It will be interesting to see what Taylor's second week will be. Does anyone have the 2nd week numbers for Midnights, 1989 TV, as well as her other million+ openers?
Of course a steep second week drop is expected, possibly even more so than her other albums. I'm expecting somewhere maybe in the 300-500k range.

Midnights did 342k week 2 for a 78% drop. I'm personally expecting this to drop a bit more. I am expecting around an 82% decline which would be around 468k and push The Tortured Poets Department just past the 3 million threshold in 2 weeks.

I think this drops to that same 350k ballpark. But if streaming continues to outpace Midnights then 400k for sure... no way it isn't a record drop in terms of units but that's just the frontloaded fan fueled market of 2024.

Midnights have 114k pure sales second week. TTPD will probably have about the same, maybe a bit more (120-130k?). Midnights have a 46% drop in SEA second week. The same drop would give TTPD ~360k. The actual drop will probably a bit harsher. Maybe right around 50%? So around ~330k. It'll definitely clear 400k second week for 3 million units in two weeks. Pretty sure even if the album got deleted from streaming and digital sales, and all physical copies got destroyed come next Friday it will still end the year as the #1 album of 2024.

Republic’s Taylor Swift will repeat at #1 with more than 400k, pushing THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT to 3m+ in activity to date. Meanwhile, OVO/Santa Anna’s PARTYNEXTDOOR is expected to log 36k on P4, which will open in the Top 15.

^Yes. Cowboy Carter had the previous best week this year at 407k SPS. If I'm not mistaken, it would be the second best week for an album since 25's.
