Sad for 5 Leaf Clover😞
Not sure i’m loving this Twisters song based on the preview at least. But…i’ll reserve judgement until i hear the whole thing next week.

Can't wait to hear this! I love the song title and Jessi Alexander is a songwriter I quite fancy. Bit of a bummer that we couldn't get more singles from the last album as I fully expected him to go at least 1-2 more in the cycle before moving on since it was a longer set and had a lot of potential remaining, but this is welcome, too. It's fun to see the occasional soundtrack single or random oddity like this thrown into the mix, and there's quite a bit of hype for the follow-up to Twister, so it's neat to see Luke Combs getting to be associated with that.

I’m really enjoying this one already! Such a rockin’ summer jam!
After this one runs its course, we should be getting one of the dad songs he’s been teasing on social media recently.

This is a stepdown from the previous era for sure. I feel like the chorus is a little over-produced. I wish one of You Found Yours/5 Leaf Clover/See Me Now had its time at radio before the new era.

This is a Blake Shelton song, and no one can convince me otherwise. It sounds like a cross between Ol' Red and God's Country. Add in that Blake is from Oklahoma and I'm surprised that it wasn't given to him. The song itself slaps, but even from the 30 second snippet Luke posted I could tell what he was going for.

I believe the last soundtrack only #1 was Ronnie Milsap's "Cowboys And Clowns" from the movie Bronco Billy. I know Shania's "No One Needs To Know" went #1 but it was also included on her studio album The Woman In Me. onebuffalo am I right on that Milsap song being the last soundtrack only chart topper?

I heard 5 seconds of the teaser and said “god’s country” 😂

Yes I’m meaning only appeared on a soundtrack and didn’t appear on a studio album. Garth re-released his album Fresh Horses with that song. The last top 10 soundtrack only that comes to mind is Tracy Lawrence’s “Renegades, Rebels And Rogues” which only appeared on The Maverick soundtrack until they released The Very Best of Tracy Lawrence compilation in the late 2000’s.

This is good, definitely fits in with some of his other rockers. I think they left some better songs on his last album though. I do think it’s cool we’re getting a song to a movie soundtrack though. Curious to see if the album inspires any more singles from it, particularly the Jelly Roll songs because they could serve as a bridge until his next album.

Really good, but i can’t be the only one who notices that this sounds like a more underpowered version of ‘Bury Me In Georgia’, right?
Will probably be a hit though given those spotify numbers though (speaking of which Luke has been doing really good on that platform as of late, atleast on the American charts. This debut only helps that)

Jelly Roll has been performing an unreleased new song called Liar a lot. You can see a lot of articles covering the performances on Opry, ACM Awards, etc. That should be released after Halfway to Hell peaked on country radio.

This hasn't fully clicked for me, yet. There's something about his vocal on the song that feels a little but muted? But it simultaneously doesn't feel like the music is too overblown/overproduced, so I'm not sure how to describe it, lol. In a way that's maybe a stylistic choice that fits with it being a song about tornadoes, idk. That's my only real qualm about it though that's keeping me from loving it, because I like the feel of the song overall. It's a nice fresh little switch up from his recent singles.

The last song solely from a soundtrack to reach top 10 was Keith Urban’s “For You” in 2012 from the movie Act Of Valor. If it reaches #1 I’ll have to do some research on that one.

Not this only being featured in the movie for like 4 seconds. Literally every other song on the soundtrack was showcased way more.
