To Daryl’s point - the alt promo world switched from Billboard/bds being their official chart to Mediabase around 2010 or so. The main reason? Cost. BDS was extremely expensive and they wouldn’t adjust their price. Mediabase swooped in and was more affordable. And it’s been that way ever since. Without taking a poll, but just from every day conversations with the promo community, few if any labels look at or even are aware of their billboard chart position. Many labels don’t even subscribe. It’s an afterthought.

And to add on: Billboard made adjustments to their tracking week to end it 2 days earlier than Mediabase, a few years ago, and big gains are usually seen in final pushes on the Saturday and Sunday updates. beabadoobee for example, may have gotten the AAA #1 a few weeks ago if they stuck to the old tracking period.

Do you guys think that they’ll send out another single from “Clancy” before their song “The Line” on the Arcane Season 2 soundtrack comes out and inevitably gets added to alt radio? They have about 2 more months until it comes out.

If “The Line” is the main theme song for Arcane, Fueled By Ramen would be foolish to promote another album track. “Enemy” interrupted and rapidly destroyed the promotion for “Weathered” by Imagine Dragons a few years ago. A lot of people have undoubtedly forgotten about that; FBR is a record label though and hopefully realizes/remembers what happened there. It should be noted that Riot Games promoted “Enemy” to radio and not ID’s actual record label. It’s likely if “The Line” is the main theme from Arcane Season 2 that Riot will be promoting “The Line” themselves once again. Riot doesn’t care if they interrupt an album single’s run if it gets in the way of the show single they’re promoting.

They have about 2 more months until it comes out. Looks like they will be performing Routines in the Night on the Fallon show tonight, if they do push another single that's likely the song of choice. Also I'm not confident The Line will be the main theme song of Arcane S2, as there are rumours there are still 2 hidden tracks by major artists in the soundtrack (Linkin Park and/or Billie Eilish are frequently named)

Really hoping “Routines In The Night” is next! That’s a smash waiting to happen and best song on the album!

Yeah, it’s looking like Routines will be the next single!!!! Perfect choice as I think it could make waves on Pop and Alt.
