It is one thing for "I Had Some Help" to go #1 for the first week but if it has not managed to stay beyond "Not Like Us" and "Million Dollar Baby" beyond the opening day on streaming then I do not understand why it is a foregone conclusion that it is number 1 for the second week as well. Is it really just being cheesed to the top by radio that hard that it can get #1 for the second week even without being near the #1 more streamed?

Crazy that on US Apple Music Taylor Swift has 15 songs in the Top 100 and Morgan Wallen has 11. Either way you slice it is amazing for each, but obviously more so for Morgan whose last album came out over a year ago.

So, just gave Billie's new album a listen and the songs I found the most radio-friendly are Lunch, Birds of a Feather and L'amour De Ma Vie. Diner and Skinny might have some potential too but are not as instant imo. I see Chihiro is doing well but I don't think it's among the catchier tracks on the record. Overall, a nice album with some very lush melodies. And I like how Billie showcases her vocals in a really passionate way on some tracks!
Also, I was checking the airplay chart and noticed Taylor's Fortnight lost 0.47M AI, while Cruel Summer remained stable and actually slightly increased. I really expected Fortnight to instantly shoot into radio's top 5 given the enormous publicity of the new album but it seems to have stalled. I get the single is not exactly the most radio-friendly option on the album but still. Do we have any info on the callouts? Are radio audiences responding negatively to it? Wonder if this will rebound but tbh I think it'd be preferable if she moved on to a new single like ICDIWABH.

It also looks like the impressions for that format are really low in general. Maybe it needs a reset lol.

That's a great second day! Really interested to see what its Monday streams will be like. It'll decrease again for Sunday but most newer albums tend to increase in streams again Monday so I wonder if she'll increase to near her debut streams. |

i remember when the tracklist was announced, some were immediately worried she'd choose the post collab as the first single and it would serve a ME!
we'll have to see if that comes true

Post back on his hitmaking throne as he should be.. pandemic was a little anomaly that dampened his power only temporarily. I love Fortnight so much, it's such a good good song, but it's just not radio friendly. I think it's time to send Down Bad to radio.

I Had Some Help slipping from massive sales and starting on streaming, that makes sense. Not Like Us riding a high for 2 weeks in streaming and snapping back with that as its main point source, also logical. Million Dollar Baby falling in turn after 2 straight weeks of significant gains, something feels odd about that. Is TikTok attention that short-term now? I feel like I have noticed songs boosted by the service stall out more rapidly, with only like a month of significant attention after which point radio has to step in.
