The general public doesn't care about the beef nearly as much as you think and there's nothing to investigate. Kendrick only repeated a bunch of baseless social media talking points. Drake still hasn't been accused of anything by anyone and that dates back to 2018 when these baseless rumors started. In fact, all the women who people have tried to stick on Drake as "proof" of him being a pedo/groomer have all come out to flat-out deny that they ever had any weird interactions with him — again, something that dates back to when these baseless rumors started so there is no "conversation around Drake" to be had other than repeating the same baseless lies that Kendrick repeats all over Not Like Us. 

You probably hope this affects him somehow, but it won't. This is the third major rap beef Drake has been in since 2015. Nothing has ever changed.

Perception is a powerful thing and while I haven’t actually polled people (or seen any sort of a poll on it), I’ve seen a lot of response to the beef from people I know, even co-workers (which was hilarious to me), friends on social media, and then random social media and most seem to imply that Drake lost. Idk how much interest or respect anyone had for him (or Kendrick) before vs after but if image is based on perception (it is), I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss. But in the end, all we can make are our own predictions and there’s no point in arguing over them. We’ll all find out soon enough whether the beef had any long-term impact on either.

First real hit since 2017? "All The Stars," "Pray for Me" and to a lesser extent, "N95," were "real hits." "Not Like Us" is his biggest hit since "Humble.," yes.

No, Kendrick got his first real hit since Like That which is bigger than any of Drake hits since 2018. Metro's work is amazing but LT with and without Kendrick is two different tracks.

He literally shifted his career trajectory after the Pusha beef and abandoned the person he has created before that

Drake won't fall off. Will it impact him? Probably. It'll limit the amount of big artists collaborating with him and it'll make him a less appealing commercial partner. I expect that there'll be less publications about him and he won't have such an easy time on streaming as he used to. He won't be as big anymore, but he'll still probably be #1 for a bit, given that he has such a huge commercial advantage over anyone else. But it is clear that people are tired of him and that they want something new. If Kendrick were to start releasing more regularly and go a more commercial route he'd do better than Drake at this point

Am I the only person who finds Billie's spotify performance a bit weird? The fact that some album tracks keeps rising on the 5th day is so unusual, and it's even crazier because they were already receiving over 6 million streams the day before, are they just going super viral on tiktok or is this autoplay again?

The benefit of the track list being short it allows people to digest the project faster and pick out favourites.

Also benefits from being a solid album in general!

I'ma agree to disagree here with the idea that this whole situation with Kendrick and the revelations about him had absolutely no impact on Drake's image publicly. I think it opened people's eyes to a lot of questionable behavior. Whether or not it has an impact on his actual career was something I never argued.

I'ma go ahead and disagree with this point too. His consistent interactions with young, underage girls throughout the years (even his odd interaction on stage with that 17yo once he found out she was 17) are all genuinely odd and questionable. The pattern of repeated personal interactions alone that have been highlighted IMO keep the "talking points" from being baseless.

Between his odd repeated interactions with underage women, his propensity for copying flows and the way he uses and abuses relationships with up and coming rap artists to bolster his own career, among other things I personally don't like his character as a person whatsoever, but I've never given Drake enough energy one way or another to care how anything affects his career. I just know his image absolutely took a hit with this whole beef. So I'ma just agree to disagree with you the whole way down and keep it pushing.

This, but also if Billie was going to do all of this, would next week make more sense? I certainly don't know what all is planned, but if Swift doesn't have more shipments/variants then she will likely have a big decline and maybe a stable Billie could have passed her with a boost.

Will you please be serious for once? Billie didn't say she hated variants in general, she specifically talked about environmental impact. Discounting a digital album to 4.99 or releasing a new digital version of an album has nothing to do with environmental packaging. If anything releasing it only on digital platforms and not a physical component is evidence of her team being environmentally conscious.

Regarding the Drake vs. Kendrick beef, regardless of whether any of the allegations thrown at each other are true, yes, perception is indeed key rather than truth and is what really matters. The clear facts are that Kendrick's songs from this beef are ranking much higher than Drake's, so clearly, K has come out more dominant. Now of course, Drake has previously been the much more successful artist by far, so it makes sense that overall his back catalog will always stream better. Drake has already been on a decline though with his last few albums, and while it's not clear exactly the trajectory Kendrick's career might take, since he's clearly come out stronger now, I'd say he has a much higher chance of scoring a few more bigger hits rather than Drake.
