The chain smokers retirement home vocals for Bette Davis eyes hurt me. I’ve only ever listened to Taylor swifts cover before this rank down and I think I’ll stick with that version for me.

Good set of reveals here. Not surprised Hanging By A Moment’s out here, glad people gave it support.
I’m sorry, I’m not a fan of Too Close. (although i’m glad it gave us Why You Always Lyin’)
Kim Carnes’s voice is just something I’m not a fan of. It’s like too gravely and gets to be a pain on the ears after a bit.

Did people in 1990 realize how corny this was? Not a bad song I'm just wondering. Which people? Lol. For one, it was coming off the 1980s where cheesy music was really a thing. You definitely had a lot of 'rock' folks thinking Wilson Phillips (not to mention pop divas, etc) were corny/lame, but plenty of other people embraced it. Even now "Hold On" is sort of beloved in a nostalgic sense, but as an example I think the people behind Bridesmaids would also acknowledge there is a cheesy element to the song.

Hold On by En Vogue should've been the YE #1 instead of Wilson Phillips

40. Tossin' & Turnin' - Bobby Lewis (1961) (51): I liked this song. It was one of my favorite new discoveries or moreso one of my favorite songs that I don't really know or listen to much. It's a cool, fun and enjoyable song. I liked Bobby's voice here. I am sure I could like this more the more I hear this. 39. Sugar, Sugar - The Archies (1969) (49): Oooh yes, pretty much echo my comments from "Tossin' & Turnin'" here. This is another one of those songs I don't really know or listen to regularly but I really liked and enjoyed listening to it here. This could grow on me even more with more listens. But sadly this (and "Tossin' & Turnin' ") ranked low due to unfamiliairty for me. 38. Theme From 'A Summer Place' - Percy Faith (1960) (59): Another song I don't really know but this one didn't make much of an impact on me. 37. Shadow Dancing - Andy Gibb (1978) (54): Ooh I thought I had ranked this song than I did, lol. Oops oh well. But this was good and enjoyable to me. This was one of the better songs I wasn't so familiar with and I wouldn't mind listening to this some more. 36. Physical - Olivia Newton-John (1982) (30): This is a really fun and steamy song from Olivia Newton-John. It's fun, sexy, catchy and just a really enjoyable song. Wouldn't have minded this being a little higher but also okay with its ranking. 35. How You Remind Me - Nickelback (2002) (26): This song did much better than I expected. With it being Nickelback, I thought this would have done far worst. But I think this is the song that introduced me to Nickelback and it still remains my favorite song of theirs. This is a really good, strong and solid rock song. 34. Thrift Shop - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft Wanz (2013) (31): Ahh dangg, just 3 spots away from a perfect rank? I can never get a perfect ranking here huh? Anywho, this is a really fun and catchy jam. Love the beat and the overall feel of this. I did prefer "Can't Hold Us" from them but this was also a solid jam. 33. My Sharona - The Knack (1979) (48): This is a really fun and catchy song. It's another one of those songs I don't listen to regularly, but I've always really enjoyed this whenever I hear this. It has such a fun and catchy chorus. It's also kinda crazy seeing that this song didn't have any rankings in the 50s. 32. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack (1972) (32): Ooof ouch, didn't realize that this is the 2nd highest remaining song from the 70s #1s here. That's kinda sad to see but I am not against it as most of the 70s #1s were lackluster to me. Not this one as I do really like this and think this is a very beautiful song. And yayy I finally get my perfect ranking here! Loving that! 31. End of the Road - Boyz II Men (1992) (17): Ugh boooo, so sad and such a bummer to see this classic slow jam out. But I guess I am not too surprised as Boyz II Men songs don't tend to do too greatly here. But yeah I do really love this song and it's just so smooth, so good and one of their beset songs. I still prefer a few of their other songs but I still love this! Happy that there are no Bottom 10 ranks for this. Oooh I think I moved up to #25 with a 14.16 score. That isn't too bad for me. Glad to finally got a perfect ranking in there. Hoping to catch up on 30-21 later on today.

Catching up on the latest set: 30. Hold On - Wilson Phillips (1990) (41): LOL the corny comment but lmaoo I can get that. This is a really nice and pretty song.... and yeah a bit on the cheesy side. It's never been a favorite of mine but I do like and enjoy this song well enough. 29. Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bangles (1987) (24): I didn't expect to boost this up 4 spots. :o But I do really like/love this song. It's such a fun and catchy song. I love the sound of this and yeah it's just so fun and infectious. Really surprised to se a #65 ranking for this. 28. Old Town Road - Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus (2019) (45): This is a fun and catchy song. I do really like it but I feel bad for never really loving it for some reason. It was wayy overplayed and while I never really got tired of it, I also never grew to love it. I preferred many other songs more from 1999. I also liked some of his 2021/2022 singles more after this one. 27. Hanging by a Moment - Lifehouse (2001) (14): Ahh yess, I absolutely love this song. It's so catchy and I just love the pop/rock sound of this. Catchy chorus that really goes off and it's just so fun to sing along to. Nice to see no ranks in the 60s for this one. 26. Faith - George Michael (1988) (27): Love this song and think this is a really fun and catchy song from George Michael. I don't think this is my favorite from George but am sure this is within my Top 5 favorites from him. 25. Low - Flo Rida ft T-Pain (2008) (7): Dangg, I think this is my first Top 10 loss here huh? Sad to see that happening now, but for that to happen at the Top 25, especially for me, is actually really great. Lovee this song so much and it's my favorite song from 2008 too. It's so fun, catchy and I always gotta jam out whenever I hear this. It's fun and just brings back so many happy memories I had with this song. Happy to see that this song also didn't have any low ranks in the 60s too. 24. Believe - Cher (1999) (19): Wow so many #24s/perfect ranks for this one, haha. This is another classic to me and song that I really love here. What a strong and great comeback from Cher here. This also stands out as my favorite song of hers too. 23. I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (1993) (5): Ugh I knew this wasn't going to rank as high as it deserves to because it never ranks high on Pulse rankdowns. But at the same time, I am really happy and so glad to see this song making it this high. I honestly thought this would have been much lower. But wow, what an amazing and iconic power ballad this is. Love the emotion and vocals that Whitney pours into this. It's also my favorite song of hers and a song I will always have a lot of love and support for. Very glad to see no rankings in the 60s here. 22. Too Close - Next (1998) (10): Ughh nooo, now I lost 3 Top 10s nearly in a row now, ugh. This can stop, please. haha I absolutely love this jam sooo much. It's fun, catchy and I just really love the sound to this. This was the year I started following music and I did love this song when I was so young, without realizing what it was about. But this song brings back such fun and happy memories, haha. How are we only down to 2 songs left from the 90s after this reveal? But nicee at this song having no Bottom 10 ranks! 21. Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes (1981) (53): Ooh okay, thank goodness this song showed up, hahaha. I had a scary feeling that this could have made it to the Top 10, which would not have been good for me, lol. This is a cool, haunting kind of song. Not too huge on Kim's voice but it's a cool song. Just never been a favorite of mine. Wow 24th place with a 13.95 score in rankdown closeness is not that bad. Remaining songs left: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 12, 13, 16, 20 21, 23, 29 33, 34, 39 42, 47 52
