What to do:

1) Rank all of the songs based on your preferences, from 1 (your favorite song) to 100 (your least favorite song). All 100 songs must be ranked.

2) PM both me (Lukas) and Brocka (Private Dancer) your rankings of all of these songs. List the songs from best to worst, so starting from #1 then down to #100. I will let you decide if you want to number your list. If you want to number your list, use the line numbering tool (see the list of links below) to automatically have it done for you. Your list will NOT be counted if you do not send to BOTH of us.

3) You must stick to the same formatting of the song artists/titles that I’ve listed above. This means, COPY AND PASTE THE LIST ABOVE TO MAKE YOUR RANKINGS. DO NOT TYPE THE SONGS OUT MANUALLY. If you don’t, I will ask you to re-do your list.

4) You can choose to edit your list after you submit, but do not do so excessively. You cannot edit your list once the submission deadline has passed.

5) Rankings are due on July 1, 2024 at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4). The deadline will be extended if necessary.

It'll be tough to complete both this and 1998, given that I prefer to work at a slower pace, but given that this has an earlier deadline and the songs are more fresh in my mind I'll prioritize this. I've just got to finish the Year-End #1's ranking first (hopefully by the end of the week).
As for 2018's music, yeah, this was a slog of a year. Not THE worst of the 2010s (that dishonor goes to 2016), but it's pretty close. Is a 2019 re-do on the agenda? That year is due for a revisit.

There are so many Hot 100 years we've never covered once, plus the remaining years that were done back in 2017 (2006, 2009, 1999). I really don't think a rankdown that was done just 4 years ago should take priority over those.

80s Rankdowns were done a few years ago (unless we want to re-do them), but the 70s are fair game.

honestly i may pass on this one too. 2018 was lowkey the worst year of my life, and i am perfectly content never hearing any of the songs i had to endure on the radio daily during that time ever again

plus this is the first redo i actually sent for originally (i think).

Oh hey, it’s the worst year end of the 21st century. I have like 5 songs I consistently come back to, and for all the songs in my bottom 40, you could essentially drop 10 spots to see where it would rank any other year. It also started the trend of Billboard cutting the YE off earlier and earlier. That said, I did start paying close attention to the charts this year, so I’ll give it a ranking. I know I’m not gonna like the end results, so here’s to boosting the few songs I took away from this list.

I don't think the overall results are going to change that much from the original.
