Hi everyone! I've done a year-end chart for a number of years now, but recently, I was thinking it might be fun to experiment with doing a weekly chart like many others on here. I'm not sure if this is something I'll want to continue long-term or not; it's just something I want to try out for the time being. My chart generally will only include current songs, although there will be occasional cases in which older songs will chart, either because I've discovered them for the first time (as we see with "Capital Letters" this week), or because they've significantly grown on me after being indifferent to them when they were current (as we see with another Hailee Steinfeld song, "SunKissing"). I plan to publish my chart on Mondays, which I will post here each week, but you can also check it out on my Crownnote profile. This week, Djo takes the lead in a weeks-long battle between his song "End of Beginning," and Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion's "Not My Fault," both songs which I've been loving recently. We also see Hailee Steinfeld's "SunKissing" make a large resurgence after feeling underwhelmed by it upon its release last year. Her song "Capital Letters" also makes a debut on my chart after discovering it last Friday (no idea how I never heard it before then, lol). Other debuts this week include Sam Feldt's new track with Jvke and Anitta ("Mi Amor"), Eminem's "Houdini," and Mark Ambor's "Belong Together." I'd seen your charts last week on Crownnote's main page and decided to follow your account, haha. Some great stuff in here! We've talked before over our common love of End of Beginning and it's nice to see it at #1 this week. Plenty of Billie Eilish too! I also like SunKissing a good deal (my boyfriend seems pretty into Hailee Steinfeld, so I gave it some spins last year). If you ever wanna do tags, please tag me! {On Charts}I also get the uncertainty in regard to publishing a chart every week; I'd mentioned that it was quite hard to set up a 40-row table in here, but Crownnote helped a lot with that, so I just backed up my charts there and that was it, haha. I actually had used Crownnote for some time in 2019-21, but I think I deleted my old account, so I had to start again this year, lol.

Yeah, I've been super into Hailee Steinfeld's music for the past few weeks after introducing my girlfriend to The Edge of Seventeen (which is a movie that Hailee stars in). For whatever reason, "SunKissing" didn't do anything for me when it was released (I considered it to be a diet "Coast"), but I gave it another listen after watching the film and fell in love with it. Also, of course, happy to tag you! I've loved Crownnote the past few weeks I've been using it! It seems really user-friendly and quite easy to use, and the copy/paste function makes setting a chart up on here way easier than it otherwise would be, lol.

Week of 6/24/2024This week, we see the top 2 hold strong, with Djo taking the #1 spot for the second week in a row. Billie Eilish's "Lunch" launches into the top 3, and Tommy Richman's "Million Dollar Baby" makes the top 10. I've been really loving Coldplay's new song, "feelslikeimfallinginlove," and it debuts this week at #14. Kane Brown and Marshmello's "Miles on It" also re-enters the chart at #20. Olivia Rodrigo's "Girl I've Always Been" and Jessie Murph & Jelly Roll's "Wild Ones" drop off the chart. If anyone else would like to be tagged in future charts, please let me know! Good to see End of Beginning holding down the #1 spot and LUNCH getting a new peak! (Incidentally enough, LUNCH also got a new peak in my charts this week.) Also, nice debut for Coldplay!

Week of 7/1/2024A lot of action this week on the chart, including the debut of three songs that were released on Friday (plus one more debut)! Djo and Hailee Steinfeld keep their spots in the top 2, while Hozier climbs into the top 10. Hey Violet's "I Should Call My Friends" makes the top 5 just in time for the release of their final album. Speaking of their final album, one other track from the album, "Die of Laughter," debuts this week at #12. Besides the Hey Violet album, I also listened to the new Jax album this weekend. While I didn't really like the majority of tracks, "Holiday" was a guilty pleasure for me due to its dad-joke tier lyrics lol. It debuts this week at #16. Lil Nas X's new single for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, "Here We Go!," also debuts right below it at #17, replacing another Lil Nas X song, "He Knows," which dropped out this week. Ariana Grande's "The Boy Is Mine" is also debuted this week. Other dropouts include D4vd's "Feel It," Kane Brown & Marshmello's "Miles on It" and Mark Ambor's "Belong Together." Week of 7/8/2024After three weeks at #2, Hailee Steinfeld finally takes the #1 spot with "SunKissing"! And despite my frustration with pop radio dropping "End of Beginning" before it could reach the top 10, I have to admit that I'm starting to get a tiny bit worn out on it lol. That said, at the moment, "End of Beginning" and "Not My Fault" are still front-runners for my year-end chart (which FYI, since I didn't do a chart for the first half of the year, will not necessarily be solely determined by how songs perform on this chart). Other notable movements include another of Hailee's songs, "Capital Letters," making top 5, along with Tommy Richman's "Million Dollar Baby." Sam Feldt, Jvke and Anitta's "Mi Amor" climbs up into the top 10. My hype for Hey Violet's "Die of Laughter" has admittedly, if you'll excuse the pun, died quite a bit this week. I didn't listen to it more than a couple times and I'm already feeling a bit bored of it, so it falls off the chart this week. "Houdini" also exits this week, making room for both the re-entry of Mark Ambor's "Belong Together" and a debut by Chappell Roan. I'd previously been middled by "Good Luck, Babe!" but it really clicked with me this week, and debuts at #12. “SunKissing” is such an underrated song! I wish Republic had some more faith in Hailee, her material has always been strong and I loved the summer vibes she was going for with that and “Coast”. It’s too bad we won’t get to hear the rest of that project.

I've been listening that one and "Coast" a lot this summer, and would have loved to see an entire project in that same summery/breezy vein. It's honestly crazy to me that Republic hasn't sent any of her singles to Pop since "Let Me Go." So many of her recent singles had potential at Pop ("Capital Letters," "I Love You's," "Wrong Direction," "Coast" and "SunKissing" all come to mind), so it's baffling to me that they haven't bothered pushing any of her work to radio in recent years.

Week of 7/15/2024Hailee Steinfeld gets the #1 spot for another week! "Good Luck, Babe!" and "feelslikeimfallinginlove" make the top 10, and "Miles on It" re-enters the top 20. Just as the other older song, "Capital Letters," begins falling, this week sees the debut of a song from 2015 - Life of Dillon's "Overload." While it is nearly 10 years old, I felt it should be eligible as I've been obsessed with the song this week. I absolutely love the summery, beachy vibe of the song, and find the lead singer's voice really interesting as well. Also, similarly to "SunKissing," I know I'm listening to it way more now than I ever did during its brief moment of popularity in 2015. Our other debut this week is Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go!" which my girlfriend just introduced me to last week (I know I'm super late to the party, haha). I've been really loving the song but feel it's time on this chart may be short, as it immediately gets stuck in my head whenever listening to it, so I'm not sure how often I'll want to return to it lol. You also may have noticed that the original version of "The Boy Is Mine" was switched out with the Brandy and Monica remix. However, since it's the same song, I am including the original version's run in its number of weeks. Dropouts this week include Angourie Rice, Hozier, and Olivia Rodrigo. Week of 7/22/2024 Quite a bit of movement on this week's chart! I just got back from a weekend trip to visit some relatives at their summer home on a lake/beach, and the top 10 certainly shows that I was in the mood for a lot of summery songs this week lol. Sam Feldt, Jvke & Anitta's "Mi Amor" climbs back into the top 10, and Life of Dillon's "Overload" jumps into the top 5 with only two weeks on the chart. Despite this, the other summery song on this week's chart Hailee Steinfeld's "SunKissing," falls to #2 this week as Dasha's "Austin" takes the #1 spot!
Debuts this week include Alessia Cara's new song "Dead Man" and Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," both of them starting off in the top 10. It should be noted though that "Not Like Us" definitely would have charted before if I'd had a chart back when it first came out, as I listened to it all the time back then, and recently came around to it again this week. Another Angourie Rice song ("What Ifs") also debuts this week shortly after "Stupid with Love" fell off the chart last week.
Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion's "Not My Fault," Hey Violet's "I Should Call My Friends" and Kane Brown & Marshmello's "Miles on It" all fall off the chart this week. Kane has a fair chance of returning at some point, as it was more of a matter of not having enough room for it on this week's chart than burning out on it like the other two.

Week of 7/29/2024 Dasha takes the #1 spot for the second week in a row! A bit of a quieter week on the chart, with Kane Brown & Marshmello's "Miles on It" re-entering the chart for the fourth time, and The Kid Laroi's "Girls" being the only debut.

Week of 8/5/2024 After a quieter week last week, we've got quite a bit of movement this week! Life of Dillon's "Overload" makes it to #1 in only four weeks. As previously mentioned, the song is considerably older from the rest of the chart from early 2015. I did a little research on the song this weekend, and it appears I would have actually first discovered the song during my junior year of high school in early 2015 (instead of late 2015 as I was thinking). That was a very good year for me, so I think nostalgia may be playing a bit more of a role than I thought as to why it's made such a resurgence for me. Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" makes the top 5 this week, while Mark Ambor's "Belong Together" and The Kid Laroi's "Girls" both join the top 10. Two songs from Kacey Musgraves' new deluxe edition of Deeper Well, "Irish Goodbye" and "Superbloom," also debut at #15 and #18 respectively. The debut of those two new tracks also finally cause Lil Nas X's "Here We Go!" to shift positions. It had been at #17 since its debut on July 1.

Week of 8/12/2024 "Overload" takes the #1 spot for the second week in a row! While the top 10 stays mostly intact, other than "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" debuting there, there was quite a bit of movement in the bottom half of the chart. Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go!" re-enters at #12, and "Flower Child" by Kacey Musgraves and Myles Smith's "Stargazing" debut at #19 and #20, respectively. Dropouts this week include Billie Eilish's "Lunch," Djo's "End of Beginning" and Alessia Cara's "Dead Man." The last of those is likely to return at some point, as I've just gotten a bit burned out on it at the moment and will probably come around to it again closer to when the album comes out.

Week of 8/26/2024 Somehow, I'm not overloaded by all the spins I've given Life of Dillon lol, as "Overload" returns to #1 this week! Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go!" also debuts in the top 5, and "The Boy Is Mine (Remix)" climbs into the top 10. Angourie Rice's "What Ifs" and Myles Smith's "Stargazing" both drop out of the top 20, with Charli XCX's "360" and Jimin's "Who" debuting this week in their place.

Week of 9/2/2024 We have a brand new #1 this week, as Kendrick Lamar rises to the top with "Not Like Us"! Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" climbs into the top 5 this week, just as "Hot to Go!" makes a big jump into the top 2. "Flower Child" by Kacey Musgraves also joins the top 10. "feelslikeimfallinginlove," "Mi Amor" and "Irish Goodbye" all fall off the chart this week. Both songs that dropped off last week join the chart again, with "Stargazing" reaching a new peak of #17 and "What Ifs" re-entering at #19. Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack debut on the chart this week with their collab "2 the Moon."

Week of 9/9/2024 The top 3 stays solid this week, with "Not Like Us" remaining at #1. Ariana Grande, Monica and Brandy jump into the top 5 with "The Boy Is Mine (Remix)," and Charli XCX debuts in the top 10 this week with "360." Angourie Rice's "What Ifs" and Hailee Steinfeld's "SunKissing" fall off the chart this week.
We have two debuts this week, both of which are older songs from over 5 years ago! I was feeling nostalgic over music from 2016 this week (oddly specific, I know lol), and I decided to listen to Daya's debut album (which, honestly, I should have done a long time ago considering how much I like her first two singles haha). I'd never heard it before other than the singles, but enjoyed it for the most part. Many of the songs were relatively generic dance-pop and aren't something I'd return to much, but one song, "Got the Feeling," really stood out to me. The production is super interesting in how experimental and different it is, and feels kinda perfect for the fall season. Since I'd never heard the song before, it's eligible to chart.
The other debut is Rico Nasty's "Block List" from 2017, which was used in a movie my girlfriend and I watched this week, and I liked it enough to look it up afterwards and listen to the full song. The lyrics are definitely a bit cringey in places, but I thought the mix of trap and bubblegum pop was really interesting, and I must admit it's kind of a guilty pleasure lol.
If anyone wants to be added to the tag list, please let me know!

Week of 9/16/2024 Lots of movement on the chart this week! "Not Like Us" holds on for a third week at #1, while "Birds of a Feather" and "Hot to Go!" swap places at #2 and #3, respectively. Charli XCX's "360" and Lil Nas X's "Here We Go!" also both debut in the top 5 this week. I've been bopping all weekend to The Weeknd's new single, "Dancing in the Flames," which debuts at #6 after listening to it nearly a half-dozen times on Friday when it was released (I doubt I'll listen to it that much in the future though, so consider it this chart's version of a first-day radio deal haha). This breaks Kendrick Lamar's previously-held record of being the highest chart debut (at #7).
Daya's "Got the Feeling" also debuts in the top 10 after only two weeks of charting. And speaking of Daya, I returned to another song from her album that I checked out last week, "Dare," enough for it to debut at #20 this week. We have two additional debuts this week, those being Katseye's "Touch" at #17 and Jvke's "This Is What Forever Feels Like" featuring Nick Jonas at #19. Four songs also fell off the chart this week. Those include Tommy Richman's "Million Dollar Baby," Jimin's "Who," Myles Smith's "Stargazing" and Dasha's "Austin."

Week of 9/23/2024 After topping of the chart for most of the month, Kendrick finally falls out of the top spot this week! Replacing him is our oldest song on the chart, Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather." It is the only song remaining on the chart that has been here since I first started this chart on Crownnote. Other notable movements this week include The Weeknd's "Dancing in the Flames" climbing into the top 5, and "Superbloom" by Kacey Musgraves & Leon Bridges entering the top 10.
We have a little mini-album bomb from Katy Perry's new album, 143, which I didn't necessarily hate as much as others on here seemed to. I found it to be pretty generic, but it was cute for what it was. The two songs that stuck out to me, "Lifetimes" and "Wonder," both debut on the chart this week. Tate McRae's "It's ok, I'm ok" also narrowly debuts in the #20 spot. Myles Smith’s “Stargazing” makes a huge jump to re-enter the chart this week at #13.

Week of 9/30/2024 Billie takes the #1 spot with "Birds of a Feather" for the second week in a row. Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack make their top 10 debut with "2 the Moon." While there isn't a ton of movement in the top 10, quite a few new songs debut on the bottom half of the chart this week!
After listening to Katy Perry's 143 last week, I decided to purchase the deluxe tracks on a whim and really enjoyed them both! I would say I enjoyed them more than the majority of songs on the album, tbh. "I Woke Up" and "No Tears for New Year's" both make their debut on the chart this week, while another 143 track, "Wonder," exits the chart.
The other debuts this week include Hey Violet's final single, "Bittersweet," and Devon Cole's "Sugar Daddy." I'm unsure of if I feel the latter song is campy in a fun or cringey way, but the chorus is addictive enough that it got enough listens this week to chart lol. ("I make my own sugar, and I am my own daddy" is currently living rent-free in my head right now, haha) The other three songs to fall off the chart this week are "Flower Child" by Kacey Musgraves, The Kid Laroi's "Girls," and Daya's "Dare."

Week of 10/7/2024
We have quite a bit of movement in the top 10 this week! Chappell Roan gets her first #1 on this chart this week with “Hot to Go!”. Daya’s “Got the Feeling” makes a big seven-spot jump from #9 to #2. Mark Ambor’s “Belong Together” and “Superbloom” Kacey Musgraves & Leon Bridges also join the top 5. It’s cool to see “Superbloom” make top 5, as I was initially expecting “Flower Child” to be the higher peaking Kacey track on this chart. (Is it weird to make a prediction on your own chart? lol)
Rico Nasty joins the top 10 with “Block List.” The lower region of the chart is a bit quieter this week, with only Katy Perry’s “Lifetimes” exiting and Paris Hilton & Meghan Trainor’s “Chasin’” debuting in its place.

Week of 10/14/2024 Our other debut this week is Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go!" which my girlfriend just introduced me to last week (I know I'm super late to the party, haha). I've been really loving the song but feel it's time on this chart may be short, as it immediately gets stuck in my head whenever listening to it, so I'm not sure how often I'll want to return to it lol. Apparently the answer was very often lol, as Chappell Roan holds strong at the top, getting her second week at #1! I am really loving the song and it hasn’t burnt on me nearly as much as I thought it would when first discovering it. The Kid Laroi's "Girls" clicked with me this week in a way it hadn't before, and makes a big jump to re-enter the chart at #8 this week. Hey Violet’s final song “Bittersweet” also makes some waves this week and joins the top 10. Our oldest song on the chart, Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” is close to dropping below the 10. Moving to the lower half of the chart, Devon Cole is pushed out of the top 20 this week by Laroi's re-entry. Week of 10/21/2024 Chappell Roan holds steady at #1 for the third week at the top! The Kid Laroi's "Girls" continues to make a resurgence and climbs into the top 5. The oldest song on the chart, "Birds of a Feather," finally falls off this week after 21 weeks on the chart. It was the only song remaining that had been charting since I first began this chart. Mark Ambor's "Belong Together," the second oldest song on the chart, also finally drops off this week after 18 weeks.
Following the heartbreaking news of Liam Payne's death, I listened to his collab with Zedd, "Get Low," enough times on Wednesday and Thursday to chart at #12 this week. Alessia Cara's new song which just came out last night, "Obvious," makes a huge debut this week at #11. I absolutely love the song and the production is such a vibe! Kelsea Ballerini's "First Rodeo" also joins the chart this week at #18. She's released a number of other singles from her album Patterns (which I'm eagerly anticipating on Friday), but none of them have resonated with me in the way that this one has. Meghan Trainor's "Criminals" also charts this week at #20. Besides her song (Chasin') with Paris Hilton, this is the first time I've really liked a song I've heard from Meghan in a while. While I’m not on the hate train for her as many others seem to be, it’s been a while since I’ve heard new or fresh from her. That said, I like that she tried something different here and think it works well, even if I'm not sure I can foresee it being a big hit on this chart at this point and time (that could definitely change, though!). The other debut this week is Khalid's latest, "Heatstroke."
Besides the aforementioned dropout of "Birds of a Feather" and "Belong Together," three additional songs drop out this week to make room for the newcomers. Those dropouts are Katseye's "Touch," Katy Perry's "No Tears from New Year's" and Tate McRae's "It's ok, I'm ok."

Week of 10/28/2024 Hi all! I'm leaving to go on vacation in a couple hours and I won't be bringing my laptop, so I'm posting this week's chart a day early. After Chappell's 3 weeks at #1, The Weeknd's "Dancing in the Flames" climbs to the #1 spot this week! It marks the second fastest climb to #1 so far on the chart, surpassed by only Life of Dillon. Just in time for their final-ever concert tonight, Hey Violet climbs into the top 5 with "Bittersweet." I've also been obsessed with Alessia Cara's "(Isn't It) Obvious" this past week! The first single from the album, "Dead Man," wore on me pretty fast, so I'm trying not to overplay "Obvious" too much in hopes I won't burn out on it so fast, haha.
I’m not usually a big fan of country, but I guess I was feeling in a yee-haw mood this week given all four debuts on the chart this week are all country songs! I listened to Kelsea Ballerini’s Patterns on Friday and really loved three of the songs. "Baggage” and "I Would, Would You” in particular are bangers! Our fourth debut is Dasha’s “Didn’t I?"
Two songs also re-entered the chart this week, those being "It's ok, I'm ok," and "Sugar Daddy." “Get Low," "Heatstroke,” “I Woke Up,” “Criminals,” “First Rodeo” and "Got the Feeling" leave in their place. Notably, "Got the Feeling" marks the first instance of a song charting at #2 without climbing to #1.

Week of 11/4/2024 The chart this week looks very different than it usually does! I was on vacation much of last week and we were pretty busy, so I didn't listen to nearly as much music as usual. I mostly listened to music in the car, and since I was traveling with my girlfriend and my dad, we tried to find a happy medium where we were listening to stuff all three of us enjoyed. My girlfriend and I have pretty similar tastes in music, but my dad doesn't really tend to keep up with newer music. He mostly enjoys music from "back in his day" lol, which was the '80s and '90s. My usual rule for this chart is that older songs aren't eligible to chart unless I hadn't discovered them before, or they had grown on me significantly after being indifferent to them at the time they were popular. In truth, I didn't listen to enough current songs this week to have a full 20-song chart, so I thought it might be fun to include some older songs that got multiple plays throughout the week.
Despite not having my normal listening patterns, The Weeknd still managed to claim a second week at #1 with "Dancing in the Flames" (which my dad quite enjoyed for the record, due to the '80s vibes haha). Pitbull and Ne-Yo make the top 3 this week with "2 the Moon," and Taylor Swift got a big boost with "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart," as those two were amongst the few "current" songs I'm listening to that we all could agree on. Kelsea Ballerini's "Baggage" climbs into the top 10 this week, although that was mainly from my listens.
A number of songs didn't make the cut this week due to my limited music consumption, and exit the chart. Those are "Girls" by The Kid Laroi, Rico Nasty's "Block List," "360" by Charli XCX, Kelsea Ballerini's "I Would, Would You" and "Nothing Really Matters," Kacey Musgraves & Leon Bridges' "Superbloom," "Chasin'" by Paris Hilton and Meghan Trainor, Tate McRae's "It's ok, I'm ok," Dasha's "Didn't I?" and Devon Cole's "Sugar Daddy."
We now dive into the older songs, some of which have fun memories attached to them that I thought I'd share. Our first older song at #9 is Will Smith & his wife Jada's "1,000 Kisses" featuring Trā Knox. My parents are big fans of Will Smith, especially my mom, and I have a bit of a soft spot for him as well (particularly the “dorky guy telling you a story” format of his early songs, which I find to be rather charming lol). I was a little surprised to see all the hate for the song in the Nostalgia thread here, but I've always found it to be a sweet little ballad, and it's honestly a standout of his discography for me.
“Starstruck” by Lady Gaga featuring Space Cowboy and Flo Rida is the other older song to make the top 10 this week. This one really brings back good memories for me, as this was actually one of the first albums my dad bought me as a kid. I wanted this to be a single sooo badly lol, and only learned when I was older that it was a fan favorite from that era.
“You Rock My World,” our #12 this week, was another childhood favorite of mine. I first heard it on a Michael Jackson Greatest Hits CD when I was a little girl (which is actually one of the albums we listened to on our trip, since my dad brought it along for nostalgia’s sake). For me, this one is up there with stuff like “Billie Jean,” “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” and “Thriller” with my all-time favorite Michael Jackson songs. Something about the production is just so joyful and sweet, and it always made this song appeal to me that as a kid (and still does now).
Ace of Base’s “Dancer in a Daydream” comes in at #13. Both my girlfriend and I listened to them as a kid, although she listened to them more than I did. Although it was never a single, this one always stood out to me. I’ve mentioned before that I like atmospheric, vibe-y productions, so the mysterious and ominous instrumental of this song is right up my alley.
Our #14 this week is “Sussudio” by Phil Collins. I’d probably go with “You Can’t Hurry Love” or “Two Hearts” as my favorite from him, but this one is certainly up there as one of my faves. Phil is one of my dad’s favorite artists, and while I wouldn’t say I listen to his music super often beyond my few favorites, I grew up liking him quite a bit as well. And speaking of my dad’s favorite artists, Roxette comes in at #15 this week. “The Centre of the Heart” is easily my favorite track of theirs. Considering much of their stuff is more rock-oriented, I always thought it was cool that they branched off and put out a dance record.
My favorite *NSYNC track is “Bye Bye Bye,” but our #16 song by them, “Pop,” is also up there for me as a favorite. Kesha’s Animal was another album I enjoyed quite a bit in my middle school years, and #17, “Stephen,” has always been my favorite from it. The sugary-sweet, flirty delivery of the lyrics is so much fun, and such a vibe. This is likely a very unpopular opinion, but I’d honestly say it’s one of my favorites of her entire discography.
#19 comes with a bit of a story. I think I’ve mentioned it on here once before, but I am not the only chart watcher in the family lol. My dad also used to watch the American Top 40 charts back in the 80s (apparently I must have inherited some sort of chart watching gene lol), and still listens to the old rebroadcasts of the 1980s AT40 shows every week, which they air on a local station here every Sunday. A couple months ago, I happened to be spending the weekend with my parents, and my dad had the AT40 show on. Not too many of the songs resonated with me, as many of them are of the “rock that dads listen to while cleaning the garage” variety lol. However, one of the songs played during the show, “Rumors” by Timex Social Club, really stood out for me. I fucking love the instrumental, and while some of the lyrics may be a tad bit outdated, the general vibe of the song was super cool to me, and so different than most of the other popular stuff during that era. We listened to it a couple times again on the trip, earning it the #19 spot this week.
I’ve mentioned a few albums from my childhood in this week’s chart, and Janet Jackson’s greatest hits album was amongst them. She was one of my favorite pop stars as a kid, and my dad always loved her as well, so we’d listen to her albums quite a bit. One of my favorites from her, “Someone to Call My Lover,” takes the last spot on this week’s chart.
This has been a very unorthodox chart, but I had fun putting it together and enjoyed sharing some of the memories I had with some of these songs! I’m home from my trip now, so the chart will be back to normal next week, and the rule of old songs not qualifying will resume.

Week of 11/11/2024 After a bit of a strange chart last week, The Weeknd still holds onto the top spot for a third week in a row. Rico Nasty's "Block List" re-enters the chart in the top 5, while "I Would, Would You" by Kelsea Ballerini re-enters as well into the top 10. Other re-entries below the top 10 include another Kelsea song, "Nothing Really Matters," "It's ok, I'm ok" by Tate McRae, Katseye's "Touch" and "Superbloom" by Kacey Musgraves & Leon Bridges. All of the older tracks that entered last week drop out this week.
We have four debuts this week. Charli XCX's "Apple" joins the chart as our highest debuter this week at #14. Close behind her is Damiano David's debut solo single, "Born with a Broken Heart." I wasn't really sure what to expect when I heard that the lead singer of Manëskin would be putting out his own solo work, but on first listen, I instantly really liked it. It sounds much more polished than the rest of the band's work, which I really like. On a similar note, Gracie Abrams debuts a song this week, and I hadn't really liked the couple of songs I'd previously heard from her. "I Know It Won't Work" never clicked for me, and the angsty vibe of "Us" felt a bit overwrought to me. "Close to You," which debuts at #18 this week, is the first song I've heard from her that I've really enjoyed. The chorus is super catchy, and it gives me vibes of Lorde's vocals being crossed with the hopelessly romantic side of Taylor Swift's lyricism.
Although this marks the 25th week of this chart (yay me for staying consistent! lol), I feel like I am still open to experimenting and making little tweaks to this chart. After last week's chart, I was thinking it could spice up the chart if recent-ish older songs that have a significant increase in plays are allowed to chart. I don't anticipate that this will mean there will be more than a couple older songs at a time, but there are times where I'll randomly latch onto an old song and suddenly want to listen to it a lot for whatever reason lol. This week, that song is Lil Durk & J. Cole's "All My Life," which debuts at #19.
