Only one debut like I expected as Everybody was the obvious exit. Had second thoughts when I heard about the guest host this week, thinking there were gonna be no debuts. I was expecting The Craving to debut, but Feeling Lucky does instead, which will definitely not make any impact here on AT40.
Shinedown's previous three hits on AT40 are played, I was worried they weren't gonna play I Dare You, which went #39 in 2006. Also when was the last time OMG was played, that's something quite refreshing other than Yeah! & DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love.

It was really refreshing hearing the Shinedown songs. We won't be hearing those hits on this show for a long time.

Does anybody notice that whenever there is a guest host, there is always a "question" from Twitter or Instagram from Pizza Banjo. That name comes up quite a bit with these guest hosts.

At #2, just behind "Second Chance" ("Sometimes goodbye is a second chance"--appropriate for a farewell) on Casey's last AT20, was the even more appropriately titled "If Today Was Your Last Day" by Nickelback. "Love Story", meanwhile, earlier (February 2009) became Taylor Swift's first AT40 #1--the first of 14 so far.

"The Craving" currently ranks at #28 on Mediabase. I hope it enters the chart soon; in 2018 twenty one pilots' "My Blood" was played on AT40 for four or five weeks as a Breakout or On the Verge track, but never actually made the countdown chart despite officially reaching #30 at MB.

Brent also mentioned that at their concerts, they'll play the clip of Casey announcing it at #1 for the 3rd week in a row.

Would be nice if they could sneak "Feel It" in too before it completely collapses at radio. It got as high as #34 at pop but it's treading water around #40 right now.

It was nice of Brent to mention Casey Kasem especially with one of his band’s songs being at the top when Kasem signed off and he even used his famous sign off, “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars” ✨🙌🏼

I wasn't able to catch most of the countdown, but from the few bits I heard, Brent really did a great job guest-hosting! He seemed really personable, and I liked how he talked about what some of his band's past #1s have meant to him in the preview for the #1 song of the week.

Yeah sometimes when a guest host takes over, it helps bring extras that haven't been heard for a while, at least when hosts like Lauv, Jason Derulo, and Rita Ora take over, but usually in the optional sections.

Great to see Brent did good job hosting, and nice to see Second Chance #1 and mentioned Casey Kasem last #1 AT20 in Jul 2009 before going for retirement. I still wish they could have put snippet clip of it... Sadly after 5 years after 2009, Casey passed away on Fathers Day weekend.

‘Greedy’ by Tate McRae should be the #1 song of the year so far in next weeks countdown where Ryan Seacrest (if he does the show) usually notes the top 3 of the year, despite her dropping 9 notches 2 weeks ago.

I just heard the latest AT40 show and since the post for it isn’t up yet, it is indeed the #1 song so far this year, the other two behind it being Lovin On Me and Paint the Town Red
