As you know music made labels a lot of money years ago.
I’m assuming they don’t make nearly as much anymore unless they’re tied into the artists touring revenues etc??
I’m not in the business so I really can’t answer the question though.

Kesha is independent now, I'd guess it's up to her to sort out a team that can handle things like radio promotion, because she doesn't have a label to help her with that anymore.

That has to be why it hasn't really been able to take off much on radio, cuz it's strong on streaming but not so much on the radio.

It's certainly a bit abrasive and weird at first but it's a good bop that grows on you. I think it could be a radio grower. Overall it's been a small win for her so far even if radio doesn't bite. If there's another single that's fun and catchy soon without the rough edges of "JOYRIDE" it could also work really well.

yeah this doesn't rly have much radio potential imo but seeing this make a minor blip on streaming is really really encouraging. i know there's somewhat of a consensus that the public *wanted* a new katy perry song to latch onto and she could've made a splash had she released the right material, but i honestly get that vibe more with kesha (especially after the dr luke sitch with the former)

She's an indie artist now, there aren't really any more "stops" to be pulled out. This did amazingly well for an independently released song with no promotion or corporate deals.

I don’t really agree, it didn’t have a video or any kind of promotional live performances, no other kinds of public appearances, etc. I’d presume this was something fun for the summer and those things will come with a proper album rollout.
