3. Fallin' - Alicia Keys"Fallin'" was the debut single by this singer from the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan. It topped the Hot 100 and also hit #1 in Belgium, The Netherlands, and New Zealand. It won Grammy Awards for Song Of The Year, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Best R&B Song, and was nominated for Record Of The Year. The song also helped win for Best R&B Album and Best New Artist. Fun fact: Alicia appeared on The Cosby Show at the age of four under her birth name Alicia Cook. But first, an extra. The lead single and title track from their third album peaked at #6 on the R&B chart and #2 on the Hot 100, and topped the charts in Ireland, Norway, and New Zealand. It won a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance By a Duo Or Group. The song was inspired by comparisons of the group to the reality show of the same name, due to the change in members over the previous year.
Survivor - Destiny's Child
This led to a lawsuit against Beyoncé, Kelly, and Matthew Knowles by former members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, who claimed that some of the lyrics violated a previous agreement that prevented both sides from insulting each other.

And now, the final 2...the song at #2 easily has the most #1s, but it still wasn't enough. 2. All For You - Janet Jackson"All For You" was the lead single from her album of the same name. It quickly shot to the top of the dance and Hot 100 charts, and also hit #1 in Canada, Poland, and South Africa. Built on a sample of "The Glow Of Love" by Change, it won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. It was Janet's first single following her separation from René Elizondo Jr. in 2000; the two had been secretly married for nine years at the time. It was included in Rolling Stone's list of the Best 100 Songs Of The 2000s. Congrats to .indulgecountry and mamooshka for a perfect Top 2, and to BB🌕 for a perfect Top 5! Ugh dang I had such a busy week this week that I forgot to come back and check the rankdown in here. Playing catch up now!
15. My Baby - Lil Romeo (13): Ooof dangg that is a whole lot of #15s here. Wow 13 #15s.... that is much more than I expected for that. But I am not surprised. This is a really cute and fun debut single from Lil Romeo. But I get that it's tough to take it seriously as he was just a kid here. But I still like it.
14. Fiesta (Remix) - R. Kelly feat. Jay-Z and Boo & Gotti (9): Well it's always impressive when an R. Kelly song can manage to avoid ranking last, lol. I'm glad that happened with this song. I do really like this song a lot and think it's a cool/smooth jam. Not suprised that this got a lot of #15s - 10, to be exact. But happy to see a few Top 10s to help this from being last.
13. Promise - Jagged Edge (14): Ooh lol why did I think this was my last placed song? Oops. Well, no complaints with the ranking for this. I do like it but it's one of the few songs I'm not crazy about. But I figured this wouldn't be a polarizing song.
12. Missing You - Case (15): Oooh nice okay, there goes my last place ranked song. Again, this is another nice song and I enjoyed listening to it. But overall it just doesn't do much for me and just isn't too memorable.
11. It's Over Now - 112 (11): Oooh nicee, I'm happy to have gotten a perfect ranking for this song. I do really like this and think this is a fun jam! However "Peaches & Cream" was so robbed here and I would have ranked that high if this was here.
A really strong solid Top 10 here. Got left: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12
10. Danger (Been So Long) - Mystikal feat. Nivea (10): Ooh okay, I do love this song but yayy happy to get another perfect ranking here. This is such a cool, funky and fresh jam. I love what both Mystikal and Nivea bring to the song.
9. Loverboy - Mariah Carey (12): I'm not surprised that this managed to be the song with the highest SD. I am glad that this didn't rank too highly as I feared that it would have. I love Mariah and know her songs do well her (deservingly so) but this wasn't amongst one of her better or strong songs. So this is a fine reasonable spot though I still would have preferred other songs to be higher ranked over this.
8. Stutter - Joe (8): Oooh nice yayy for another perfect ranking! Love this song and this is such a cool, funky and fresh jam from Joe. I do really love the remix version with Mystikal. Great jam and good spot for this.
7. Where The Party At - Jagged Edge feat. Nelly (6): Okay now this is the Jagged Edge song that I can rock with. I absolutely love this song so much. It's such a great, fun, infectious party jam. Such a different sound from Jagged Edge. But I love the fun and carefree sound of this! And also love Nelly's rap verse here too.
6. Differences - Ginuwine (7): Aww sad and shocked to see this getting a last place ranking. But ahh I love this song and think this is such a smooth and gorgeous song. This is one of my favorite songs from Ginuwine. Sometimes I do think of this as my top favorite song of his, but yeah great song. And whoa shocked to see this have the 2nd highest SD.
Omgg whoaa what an iconic Top 5 here. Got all of my Top 5 remaining, which I feel like is a first on here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5!
5. U Got It Bad - Usher (3): Oooh great stats for this song, with the 3 #1s and no Bottom 4 rankings. This is such a smooth, gorgeous and heartbreaking song from Usher. But he sings this wonderfully and brings the emotion so well and flawlessly here. This is a great and enjoyable song. Kinda bummed that this wasn't his last standing song. Though I expect his other song to show up next.
4. U Remind Me - Usher (5): Yeah "U Remind Me" looked like the obvious #4 out of this Top 4, haha. Ooh and wow this beat out his other song by 15 points. A little bummed this won out of the Usher songs but not that mad about it. This is a really smooth, fun and upbeat song. I love the sound/vibe of this. It's just such a feel good song and I do still love it. Wow the rankings for this song is really impressive - with most of the rankings in the #2 through #7 spots. Wowzers. :o I feel like that's so rare to see but it's fun to see.
3. Fallin' - Alicia Keys (2): Awww noo, I'm a little bummed that this missed out making the Top 2. This is such an iconic, classic debut single from Alicia. This is so soulful! I love the vocals, emotion and soul that Alicia pours into the song. The piano playing from her is so beautiful too. This is just such a wonderfully crafted song and I'll always love it. Veryyy nicee at no Bottom 6 ranks!
Oooh now it's my #1 vs. #4. LOVE both but rooting for my #1.
2. All For You - Janet Jackson (1): Ahh dangg, such a bummer seeing this song having the most #1s and not being able to pull out the win. Wowzers at 13 #1s for this is really amazing and I love to see that. This is such a fun, catchy and infectious song and I just absolutely lovee it! It's up there as amongst one of my biggest favorite songs from Janet. This song is just so fun and always leaves a smile on my face.
1. Family Affair - Mary J. Blige (4): Even though I'm sad that my #1 didn't win it, I am not mad about this song winning. This song is an absolute jam and a banger! I love the attitude and sass Mary J brings to this with her performance and vocals here. I love the beat/music production. This song is just such a good time and I love the energy/feel of this. The 7 #1s and 10 #2s is great for this!
My favorite extras: You Rock My World - Michael Jackson Contagious - The Isley Brothers I'm Real (Murder Remix) - Jennifer Lopez feat. Ja Rule Survivor - Destiny's Child He Loves U Not - Dream AM To PM - Christina Milian
Happy with the 3 perfect ranks! This was yet another fun and entertaining rankdown. Thank you so much for hosting this, Soulsista! I am already looking forward to the 2002 rankdown.
