All these artists these days I've never heard of. Lol Who the hell are Stray Kids? Another K-Pop boyband. Surprisingly, this will mark their fifth #1 album in 2.5 years. All these artists these days I've never heard of. Lol Who the hell are Stray Kids? This was literally me today discovering and researching all the ridiculous kpop chart peaks over the last few years. I've only been casually following the BB200 and missed how crazy it's gotten. Kpop stans are next level. |

Not surprised by Stray Kids, even though I haven’t heard a single song by them. The K-pop fanbase is very loyal and strong on the physical front. Five number one albums is crazy!
It feels like a long way off, but I’m really excited to see how Sabrina does. With two big hits already, I’m interested in her consistency and holds. I have a feeling she’ll be a lingering force. One thing I can’t predict is her first week.

I know the name of multiple K-Pop acts like this out of following the charts but challenge everyone to name one song, hell even one lyric and we're all cooked.
Outside of BTS and maybe BLACKPINK these acts haven't crossed over outside of their small, vocal niche.

I’m not too familiar with Stray Kids… or any of these K-Pop groups apart from BTS. It’s remarkable that they have a presence, but I it’s pretty cool watching them impact the US. Ever since BTS topped the Billboard 200, we’ve experienced a “K-Pop Invasion” but fortunately it’s more on the album side than the song market.

HITS YTD album chart was also updated today. It shows TTPD has crossed 5 million SPS, OTAAT 2 million and 8 other albums crossing 1 million, including Lover and 1989(TV). For TTPD a little more than half of its SPS has come from pure sales. Billie's new album is #2 in pure sales with more than 7 times pure sales than TTPD. Stick Season has the third most audio on-demand streams and most video on-demand streams.

Imagine how it felt a couple months ago when both Espresso and Please Please Please were starting to hit it big. They should've attempted to move the album release up by a month, because the hype for both Espresso and PPP will start to wear off considerably by Aug 23rd, and let's face it, it's not likely she'll be able to strike with a third smash single before then. |

I'm not "whining that they're fading out" completely. But yes, a month from now, it will be considerably past the prime of both songs and the hype will definitely have faded at least moderately, so in my opinion it will be past the ripest time to release her album. Either way, honestly I'm not expecting huge numbers from her. |
