If I am going to have to explain myself for my low ranking for "I Love You Always Forever," I'm sorry, but what's dreamy and relaxing to others is very boring adult contemporary schmaltz to me with this song in particular, and the extremely breathy vocals isn't something I vibe with either.

2 ranks in the 100s? How does one not like this song that much? It's calm, nice, chill. it's not a bad song at all, I just found it rather boring. This YE as a whole being so stacked didn't help it either... |

Children making it as high as it did is absolutely the biggest surprise of the whole rankdown. I wouldn't say it's a bad surprise except for the songs it beat that deserved being higher but it makes up about 2% of my disappointment over some of the other reveals.

Missing is also great but I’ll never get why a lot of people love this one so much compared to Where Do You Go when most people don’t enjoy that one as much. They have the same exact beat and flow, like the latter is a copy cat, is it probably the vocals or something.

And with that, the 1996 Hot 100 Year-End Rankdown is complete! With the recent 1998 rankdown and now this one completed, only 1997 remains out of Year-Ends we have not done a rankdown for on Pulse yet since 1980. I'm glad I was able to host one of the late 1990's rankdowns because I consider this my favorite timespan of music.
The next rankdown I will host is the 2024 Hot 100 Year-End Rankdown, which I hope to see all of you send for! The tentative list of songs we'll be ranking is here, to be finalized when the Year-End officially releases.
