I’m super happy for Shaboozey’s success (though Sweet Honey Buckiin deserves lol) and ABS is about as universally appealing as it gets, but it is pretty tragic that its super long reign may be the sole reason now that Sabrina isn’t snatching 3 #1s from this album. That would’ve been an absolutely incredible feat and unprecedented in the streaming era. And all solo with zero chart tactics needed I might add. Would have been the ultimate flex. The last album is still 1989 no? And again, even that needed remix help to do it pre-streaming era.

Edit: always forget Heartless from After Hours was a h100 #1. So I guess there has been an album to pull 3 in the streaming era. But again, needed a major high profile remix for one of them.

Not sure if it’s been discussed in another thread but the Songs of the Summer chart is official and “I Had Some Help” is number 1, meaning a second year in a row for Morgan. Interestingly, looking at past number 1’s from previous years, a woman hasn’t had been in the top spot in 10 years and the last one was ironically… Charli XCX.

I would personally consider the true streaming era to start around 2016 in terms of as we know it now. Isn’t that around when billboard also started heavily weighting it on the hot 100? But yeah, totally forgot about Scorpion. That one didn’t need any remixes or chart tactics and was definitely in the streaming era.

Drake's got three songs hanging around in that Spotify Top 200. I wonder if any can grow in popularity or if this will be his ceiling for a while. Just last year "Search & Rescue" debuted at #2 on Hot 100 and "Slime You Out" debuted at #1, and then when he dropped his album he got another #1 with "First Person Shooter" but that was assisted by being on the album and we know he does big album bombs. But the point I'm making is that the random song "Search & Rescue" and the lead single for the album released ahead of time "Slime You Out" both did really well on the Hot 100, at least for their debut week. Meaning, they did not require the album bomb to get there. So I look at his numbers for all these tracks he's put out since the beef and while I would not call "It's Up" generally a flop, it sure is for Drake standards - not even close. I do agree that an album will be the true deciding factor, but he may hide behind doing a collab album with PARTYNEXTDOOR for his next album which would provide yet another excuse.

He'll be fine. He drops things like this in between albums at times. Nothing he dropped has a full focus right now besides the core format radio play. But, I'm sure if something gains steam, then the team will put the right work in.
