Another week with the same old extras. And for the first time since March, there are no songs by groups on the chart with Coldplay and Twenty One Pilots exiting. Something is telling me that there will be no songs to peak at #2 this year since every song that makes it higher than #4 ends up going to #1. Madison Beer could have the first song ever to make the Top 10 on AT40 but not even touch the Billboard Hot 100. 😫

With ‘Greedy’ by Tate McRae falls off their se still 4 songs that debuted in 2023. Very impressive staying power considering we are entering September. ‘Greedy’ falls two weeks short of the all time record of latest on the chart in the calendar after it was the first number 1 of the year. It still holds with ‘High Hopes’ by Panic At The Disco that last week on the chart was 9-14-19

The Craving by 21 Pilots falls making it another disappointing below 20 peak for them since their original run in 2015 to 2017 when they were peaking number 1 or 2

Nice run for ‘Beautiful Things’ by Benson Boone. It’s trying to pull a ‘Calm Down’ by Rema featuring Selena Gomez but obviously will fall short substantially but it’s the only song in 2024 on the American Top 40 countdown to have a long healthy run in the top 10 with 23 weeks and cougting takes atleast two more week according to Sunday night’s Mediabase 24 7 chart. Basically a lot of songs to hit the top 10 that debuted in 2024 has gone up and down rather rapidly.

Sabrina never had an AT40 top 10 hit until "Nonsense" hit #10 last year. Now she probably will get three #1's in a row.

Between Shaboozey and Tommy Richman that's back to back #1's from artists from Woodbridge, VA, in or near which I grew up. I can attest to the Queen's Gambit kareoke bar, located off of the Prince William County Parkway, which Tommy's song mentions and Ryan drew attention to last week.
