42k is better than the 25k I was expecting, so I'm happy for Katy. Just a small drop from Smile, which all things considered, it could be worse!

I wonder why there are no predictions for Keith Urban. I feel like he will be very small numbers

Wow…. I wonder if Katy’s streaming will hold strong throughout the week and if she can compete for the #1 with Pastor Fewch.

...Is Katy even going to make the top 10? I think the last chart had people in the top 10 with 30k numbers, so if she does in the 40s yes. 37 there's a chance no.

Future dominating! This will be his third #1 project this year alone!

If you told me that in the year 2024 Paris Hilton would outsell Katy Perry I would have NEVER believed it well, Paris didn't sell more than 38k, at least 7k units less than projected - which wouldn't be weird if she's at 450k, but from 45k it's a huge number (and we still don't know how much it fell).

Future's highest song today on US Spotify is #47 down from #27 yesterday and #10 the day before where it debuted.

At midweek, Future's MIXTAPE PLUTO (Freebandz/Epic) looks set to score a #1 debut, with first-week activity projected at 125k. Including collaborations, this will be the Atlanta rapper’s 11th #1 album.
While Future puts Sony in the top spot, UMG dominates the Top 10 and may lock down #2-10 in the week's final tally.
And Chappell Roan's sales surge this week with the arrival of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess Deluxe Vinyl (Anniversary Edition) (Island). Roan's activity is set to soar more than 70% on Friday's HITS Top 50.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, it’s 5pm somewhere.

Only 10,000 for Katy outside her 30k physicals? Yikes.

Damn she's on the lower end of predictions. Maybe the deluxe will get her closer to 50k.

Basically Katy is doing around 13 million album streams then in US? That absolutely disastrous

I know some people are pleasantly surprised because she could have gone lower but with the variants and the 75% split towards physicals (preordered, stan fueled lile most people in 2024, and a deluxe digital), this is a disastrous number imo.

I’m not sure whose numbers are more surprising… Paris or Katy. The fact that Paris can generate those numbers is impressive! Then… I don’t know about Katy Perry, but at least she’s still in the top 10.

It seemed really odd to me that she would suddenly explode in sales in week 2 when most people drop without any real reason to suddenly gain a bunch of sales. Like, did her and her friends literally try to buy 45K cds or something?! Were they accidentally counting the ads on social media that were everywhere?

I'm pretty sure that Paris' physical copies weren't shipping until week #2. She was going to see an increase in pure sales no matter what in week #2.

Paris’s second week sales only ended up being 4.5k counted of the original 45k reported.

Idk for Katy to only be predicted 10k less than what Smile debuted with. When it felt like Smile's singles were bigger (NRO and Daisies), and she was in better standing with the public. I'm impressed. Especially given all the backlash she's received. I really think this shows though her team's stupid decision to not focus on streaming at all. Focused on the sales, that's why those are good, but the streams matter too.
I was just hoping she'd make the top 20. I didn't even know top 10 was in the cards.

I agree that this isn't as bad as I thought it'd be for Katy. Selling 40k, and potentially being close to 50k (sure, with a deluxe) and being Top 10 didn't seem like where she was headed with all this backlash and negativity surrounding this project.
It's still not an amazing showing by any means and I'm sure Katy would've hoped for a #1... but a Top 10 sixteen years after OOTB's isn't something to be necessarily mad at. She should be mad, however, that this could've performed a lot better with the right material (or at least right single choices).

I think the label was pretty smart to play more into sales as opposed to streaming if anything because sales were always gonna be the saving grace with 143 as no one was streaming "Woman's World" or the other singles from jump. I think the label definitely did what they could financing videos and putting everything out there as best they could. They definitely cast the pole, just wasn't getting many bites.

I shared in a different thread that I'm assuming after her selling her publishing, I don't think shes focused on commercial success (to an extent)anymore.(Could also be why Capitol hasn't sent anything else out for adds...yet)
