i am not sure the last time Akon reached the top 50 on Mediabase but according to the Billboard site he reached #31 with Pop Airplay in 2013 as a feature with David Guetta and Ne Yo with Play Hard.

I don't remember that song being big in my area but I remember it charting high. Then when I finally heard it I was like really??? His 09 singles probably just felt bigger to me because I liked them a lot more plus I was generally more aware of him by that point. I will never understand how "Don't Matter" didn't get crushed for being a complete ripoff of "Ignition (Remix)." It's so obvious and it seemed like no one ever talked about it (except here of course lol) |
