hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=343124Saturday, October 19, 2024 JELLY VS. CHARLI: CHART BATTLE ENTERS ROUND 12As we enter the second day of a battle that's too close to call, both teams are fighting fiercely to secure #1. BBR/ Republic and Jelly Roll, and Atlantic and Charli xcx, are going head to head trying to scrub the other's claims and get numbers thrown out. With a winner still to be determined the fighting is palpable, as are the name calling and accusations. Jelly's Beautifully Broken and Charli's deluxe expansion of BRAT look to be in the low 150k range. Stay tuned for the final bell... Jelly Roll retweeted Chart Data's tweet about this and just a few hours ago posted this message:

I think Charli is gonna get it. She doesn't seem to be acting out like this or am I wrong?

^They just updated it unlike a couple of weeks ago that something similar happened. There are a few discrepancies positionwise for predicted positions 8-10 from the actual Billboard 200 positions.

I think Charli is gonna get it. She doesn't seem to be acting out like this or am I wrong? I mean, he seemed to be reacting to charli's crazy stans who were probably sending him violent death threats and being hateful. his fans I would think are...less prone to hysterical fits.

^Which is why Jelly Roll is going to quit X. I think that's where he got most of the threats.

Seeing the responses to this is so annoying to me. God forbid a celebrity or anyone show an ounce of emotion, or reveal any type of vulnerability or humanity within themselves in such a cold, superficial climate. Twitter is the perfect eximplification in real time of what human beings are truly capable of if left unchecked and I can't help but feel Elon is wanting to foster such an environment. A lot of them lose all sense of morality, values, decency, empathy, their very humanity.....and just become spiteful, hateful, abhorrent trolls simply because they can. I'm so tired of the excuse "oh people are just too soft" or "that's just the way it is online" etc. People essentially justifying and excusing the most vile behavior as if it's unproblematic and there aren't real people, real lives, living, breathing, souls on the other side of every hate-fueled remark leveled (be it a celebrity or otherwise) that is impacted. It's this delineation of the internet not being "real" that's the issue in the first place, which allows people to circumvent accountability. The internet is fastly being incorporated/structured into people's "real lives" everyday more and more and before long the lines between the "real" and "fake" world are going to become very blurred, because whether or not people will admit it, on some level all of our emotional selves are tied to both indiscriminately. We've already seen how it's usage has very direct "real world" implications, but people still choose to treat their presence online as if it's inconsequential. I know this is such a broad, unrelated topic, but seeing the idiotic responses to Jelly Roll's statement just reminded me even more why I never go on Twitter and why I have concerns for society in general. Makes you wonder how many people would be truly vile if merely given the opportunity to be so.

Could JR have been talking about the Country airplay chart 'max spins' manipulation?
Last week, IAMO held at #2 because it was unexpectedly jumped by 'This is My Dirt'.
This week, it appears 'Miles On It' is jumping over it for #1.
