I'm curious about songs that peaked low, under the top 40,or barely scraping, that still managed to hit the YE list.
The 3 lowest peaking examples i know of are El Perdรณn by Nicky Jam ( #56 peak and #96 on 2015 YE) , Talk You Out of It by Florida Georgia Line ( #57 peak and #94 on 2019 YE) and She Likes It by Russel Dickerson ( #63 peak and #90 on the 2022 YE).
Also none of this is official but there are some pretty interesting peaks for the songs on TOTC's 2024 YE prediction, the main one catching my attention being Wild Ones By Jesse Murph and Jelly Roll predicted to make the YE at #36 with a peak of #35. The actual peak itself isn't surprising but the year end spot prediction certainly is. It did spend 37 weeks on the chart tho.

The lowest would be in the same Year-End list as "She Likes It" in "Flower Shops" by ERNEST/Morgan Wallen that had a #64 peak yet it is #96 in the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End in 2022.
From the 2021 YE is Keith Urban/P!nk's "One Too Many" that despite a #52 peak, managed to end up at #81.
Another song I can recall has a really low Hot 100 weekly peak is YK Osiris' "Worth It" that was in the 2019 Hot 100 YE at #77 with a #48 peak.
Tucker Wetmore's "Wind Up Missin' You" would've had the same peak as "She Likes It" (#63) but managed to notch a #43 peak by the last charting week for the 2024 YE.

Seems many of these are country songs that stay on forever since country radio canโt let go of them.

^The Country Airplay seems to be dominated by songs that slowly climb the chart, resulting in notoriously long chart runs. Even climbing into the top 10 doesn't necessarily translate into a song charting in the Hot 100, as is the case with Parmalee's Gonna Love You in its 52 week in the chart with a new #6 peak. I guess a prerequisite for those songs to manage to end up in a Hot 100 Year-End to have at least some streaming above a certain threshold.
