Fred Bronson of Billboard sent me an e-mail this morning in answer to a question about Diana DeGarmo sales (which I put in her thread) but he also wanted me to remind the music boards about his on-line radio station, RADIO FRED BRONSON, which he has been planning to implement for several years and finally has it up and running. Fred believes that the United States does not have enough access to music from other countries. That we, in fact, block much of the music from them, and his great passion is music from Sweden. He goes there every year in support of the Euro music contest and helps run it. Several years ago, Billboard and Fred together had an on-line show called "Pop Goes The World" with the Number One charted song from each country that had the best sellers that week. He also is responding to numerous letters to his CHART BEAT column about why radio will not play Clay, Diana, or most of the Idol contestants who bring out a CD. So on Radio Fred Bronson, you will hear hit music from around the world, a lot of Idol stuff, and anything from the 50's and 60's that he likes, just about anything. He asked me to remind people it is there, so here you go: www.live365.com/stations/seeaboutme

I'm sure Fred is aware of all of these, but this one of his does specialize in American Idol music. Thanks for giving us another option, Slinky, such stations are needed in the USA, where you cannot go into a music store and see hits of the world spotlighted the way you can in any one of them in Europe and other locations.
The link works better now, after I removed the period at the end of the sentence. Duh!

it's pretty obvious. I've never understood why the US and Canada do that. Robyn's a prime example. She was getting really big in America, then they didn't even release her second album. I STILL cannot figure that out. I probably never will.
Fred's good, but sometimes his opinions make me gag, but I understand he's trying to protect the company he works for, thus can't say anything against the Useless 100.

Fred is good. He's the one the networks go to interview when any music anniversary or news item of the charts comes up.

This online radio program is proving to be more and more popular ! Going around the net and reading some of the fan boards, they appreciate his eclectic music tastes from Fred and his sampling of the hits from around the world. This week we have the new release with lots of young artists, DISNEYMANIA 3, (Raven, Jesse McCartney, Clay Aiken, Kimberley Locke) that Fred will certainly spotlight since several of these he has featured in his columns in the past. (The first DISNEYMANIA shipped Platinum, and DISNEYMANIA 2 was certified Gold, so let's see what these names will do for sales !) Give RADIO FRED BRONSON a try and see if you like the music you will find there, much of it the songs you cannot find on the radio. www.live365.com/stations/seeaboutme

I have been looking for some new albums from around the world that people think are good, especially the Idol winners that we did not see on WORLD IDOL in January 2004. If anyone knows of a really great album that we do not get the opportunity to hear here, please let us know.
This morning I received this message, that I will act on:
********* Stellium,
I know of two more. The winner of FINNISH IDOL (I don't know if they really call it that, but it was the Idol show in Finland) is a woman named Hanna Pakarinen. Her album is called When I Become Me. I bought it online from a store in Helsinki called Pop Angel. I sent in a request to have it played on Radio Fred Bronson.
I don't have it yet, but there is a CD in Sweden by the winner of SWEDISH IDOL. His name is Daniel Lindstrom. The runner-up is named Darin and he has a single with an album coming out. I don't have the single yet. I order Swedish CDs online from a store called Skivhugget. They have a website in English.
