Since they've already shot a video for "F*cking Determined," I can't help but wonder if this is its title for radio. But maybe they already had a song going on the album called "Happy?"
Either way, I am greatly amused by this seemingly reactionary song title.

Ooh, I can't decide whether I like this or "F*cking Determined" more. It's clear, though, that FD is meant to appeal to their built-in fanbase, while "Happy?" is meant to secure them radio play for this album. Definitely looking forward to the drop date for Lost and Found now and moreso disappointed that their St. Louie show tomorrow sold out on me.

I really don't like this band but I was impressed when I heard on 93X KXXR in Minneapolis about a week ago on the way to the gym. I'm listening to this now, this may be their first hit on my charts...ever.

Looks like this has had a pretty strong first week, entering directly into the top 60. Can't wait to hear this one.

So the record label pussied out and made them remove "F**king" from the song title? Lame. Perhaps it's listed correctly inside the album.
Kittie's song "Pussy Sugar" met a similar fate when their album was released last summer. It's listed correctly in the liner notes, but only on the extra production, players, etc. listings and not where the song lyrics are.

MUDVAYNE Happy? Producer(s): Dave Fortman Writer(s): M. McDonough, G. Tribbett, R. Martinie, C. Gray Publisher(s): Zomba Enterprises/Mudvayne Music (ASCAP) Genre: MODERN ROCK Label/Catalog Number: Epic ESK51495 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: February 26, 2005
Mudvayne burst onto the metal scene in 2000, adorned in makeup and masks that earned it instant comparisons to Slipknot. However, the band's musicianship, favoring complex rhythms along the lines of Tool and frantic bass work, distinguished the group from its nü-metal brethren. Second album "The End of All Things to Come" (2002) was more melodic and garnered two top 15 active rock singles, "Not Falling" and "World So Cold." For its forthcoming third album, "Lost and Found," Mudvayne has washed off the face paint and dropped the stage names, standing on its own and letting the music speak for itself. The debut of "Happy?" at No. 26 on the active rock chart proves that the act's gambit has paid off. This is one of Mudvayne's most straightforward pieces of work and has the makings to be its most successful song yet.—BT

I was so biased against Mudvayne after "Dig" that I didn't gave "Not Falling" a chance for months. I eventually got into that one a lot, and this is impacting pretty quickly for me.

Mudvayne's music video has been posted here: http:// hdpvidz.com/ for download. It has been reported to be a very good video.
I still haven't been able to watch it on MTV.com where it was originally posted first. There was a connection problem, apparently.

I saw it on Headbanger's Ball last weekend. They pre-empted an hour of it for those goddamn new Sic 'Em Friday bullshit shows. And then they had the nerve to show the full 2 hours at 3 AM last night, right after I chose to go to bed. F**k MTV(2).
It was a great video. Chad cut his hair to "Not Falling" era length (after having hair longer than ever for the "F**king Determined" video a couple months ago.
Mudvayne is playing in daylight in a green field and is accented by a neighborly butterfly fluttering around. (An actual butterfly wrangler was employed to get it to land on Matt's cymbal stand and Greg's mic.) Then as the song progresses, the sky darkens dramatically until the very end when all of a sudden everything is clear and green again.

WOW!
Mudvayne takes this week's Active Rock #1 by exactly ONE spin. ONE.
I don't think I've seen anything that close since Avril Lavigne's My Happy Ending missing #1 by 5 spins to Maroon 5.
If the spin #'s were to be the same, would audience be the next deciding factor for #1?

If the spin #'s were to be the same, would audience be the next deciding factor for #1? Trend would be the tiebreaker, so if Mudvayne had one fewer spin or Audioslave one more, Audioslave would have been #1.

This is now in the top 10. I just checked last week's R&R and only 43 out of 72 stations had officially added the song as of then. When's the last time a song made the top 10 with a number that low?
