Omg this song kicks ass. i just got that Cd today. i listened to it twice, and that, Vermillion (parts 1+2) and Duality are easily the best songs on it. i hope it gets some airplay. i heard it couple times around here.

HAHA!!
I just watched them "sing" on Conan. I laughed, alot. The one guy had straws coming out of his head, while the one guy had no creativity and just had a skull...hahaha and you couldn't EVER understand one word he was saying. His voice was scratchy, low, and dull. I laughed out loud.

The song rules, just like the previous two. God, this is another entry on the long list of albums that I need.

If it's as good as Steve says it is (and I don't see why it wouldn't be) then I'll definitely have to make sure I buy a new copy soon.

Then obviously they're not meant for you. Yeah. Although I will admit I liked the riff on "Duality."

I kind of liked "Duality" before it got overplayed, but other than that, they're just too "active rock" for me.

Have heard this a couple times this week on KPNT and while it's not as immediately likeable as the first two singles, it's still good on initial impressions.

The album is now next on my (short) list of planned purchases. I mean, since I downloaded and listened to the whole thing anyway...
"Duality" was a slow burner; "Vermilion" was decent but not quite as good. After getting into "Vermilion Pt. 2", I started appreciating Pt. 1 more. And a couple of listens to "Before I Forget" made me a believer, so to speak.

What's the deal with "Vermilion", anyway. All's I've ever heard on the radio is Part 2. It used to be denoted on Mediabase that it was part 2, but it's since been dropped. But I saw the regular "Vermilion" video on Launch, and in the promo for their tour stop in Detroit, a clip of that is played as well, as if it's supposed to be one of the songs everyone knows. Which version of the song are most people getting?

The few times I heard either version on the radio, it was "Vermilion". Of course, I have an Active Rock and not an Alternative.
I'm probably going to split the run for "Vermilion" on my personal chart into two -- "Vermilion" peaking at #46, and "Pt. 2" likely to head well into the top 20. I think they're different enough to justify it, and there was a clear point where I started liking "Pt. 2" more.

Well they are two different songs on the album...I mean, it isn't like it's one of those dogshit Jennifer Lopez remixes that she always does.

If the difference is that one's acoustic and one's hard rock, then I've heard the hard rock version all but one or two times. And both of those were on WMFS. I don't recall if I've ever heard them play the hard rock version. But every time on KPNT, MTV2, and my Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack, it's the hard rock version. I'm assuming that's "part one."

I don't like anything by them because I can't get past them screaming like they're trying to barf you obviously dont listen to them...so dont judge em. yeah, their first 2 records were just screaming, but if you dont like em, dont post. you actually need to listen to some metal to appreciate slipknot, although they arent the best out therre. maybe if you got over the whole 'metal is just screaming' stereotype, you might appreciate them. besides, make fun of corey cuz he can scream, id like to see you do it.

SLIPKNOT Before I Forget Producer(s): Rick Rubin Writer(s): various Publisher(s): EMI April Music/Music That Music (ASCAP) Genre: ROCK Label/Catalog Number: Roadrunner RDRR 10119 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: April 02, 2005
Unlike most of its late-'90s metal brethren, Slipknot has continued to progress with each album. The band's larger-than-life stage act overshadowed the music early in its career. Despite Slipknot's previous two releases going platinum, it wasn't really until last year's disc, "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses," that radio took major notice. "Duality" was a top five song at active, also giving the group its first hit at modern, where it reached No. 6. "Vermilion" was another top 20 hit. "Before I Forget" is one of the more memorable songs on "Subliminal," thanks to Corey Taylor's chorus. While the nine-piece band hasn't let up on the aggression, it has refined its style somewhat, bringing more tuneful sensibilities into the mix. Already No. 24 at active rock, modern won't forget to follow suit. The band is currently headlining a world tour that is criss-crossing the United States.—BT

Eh, this just doesn't hold my attention as much as "Vermilion" did, or "Duality" for that matter. This is probably the first Slipknot single (that I've heard) that I haven't really been impressed, although maybe "Duality" was that. That one really flew under the radar for me.

Wow! "Before I Forget" fell out of the Top 40 and, 10 weeks later, it re-enters. As of Monday afternoon, August 8, it sits at #38 on Mediabase alternative with a +7 bullet. Will this song be moved to recurrent despite its resurgence, or will they keep this song on the chart? Could someone also post what week this song is currently in?

This week (8/12/05) makes 21 weeks, so I guess Mediabase is going to keep them on a little longer.

Where did this peak anyway? Seems like a re-run of the run of "Wait and Bleed", which, incidentally, made the year-end chart despite missing the top 40. I guess this one is just hitting that core of active-leaning stations the way "WAB" and "Left Behind" did before they broke through. I still think this is an awfully average song for them, and not near as good as "Duality" or "Vermilion".

This is my favorite single from them, so I'm glad, but a little puzzled since it's a third single and all (fourth if you count "Vermilion" and "Vermilion Pt. 2" separately).
I think it peaked somewhere around #30.

This was my favorite Slipknot single out of the 3, but of course WJRR played it like it was the #1 song on the chart instead of around #30, so it kind of killed it for me.
