Just read where WJOX in Birmingham will not carry the Braves anymore after having them since JOX started. That leaves no one in the B'ham area that carries the Braves. Jox used to be great but it has gotten really boring lately. Thank God for XM and all the sports talk.

What'll make it even harder is that the Braves will no longer be on WSB-AM, which booms across 38 states at night. They're moving to WGST, which can barely get beyond I-285 at night. Maybe a station in B'ham will pick it up.

The Braves radio network seems to get smaller every year. Hopefully another station will carry the Braves in Birmingham.

There's a small station I used to work for in Albertville, WAVU, I believe still carries them but it's an AM and dosen't carry off of Sand Mountain. I can pick them up in Gadsden on 95.9 which I believe is in Centre. I can't believe the Braves Network is getting smaller. It seems like everyone is kind of getting tired of them. They have had their run but with only one title everyone is starting to yawn a bit. I love listening to the guys on the network. I think they do a good job.
The Birmingham News reported today that WJOX is also dropping Eli Gold and adding Jim Dunaway from NBC 13 and Tony Kurre from Rock 99.5. Dunaway will will be with Ryan Brown from 1 to 3 and Kurre will co-host the JOX Roundtable with Lance Taylor from 11 to 1. I wish they would drop Sonny and Wimp. They are really boring. I pretty much have stopped listening to JOX since I got my XM so maybe they have gotten better.
