This song is being featured in the iPod Shuffle commercials that run seemingly every 2 minutes. It was originally released in 2003 according to AllAccess, and is currently only getting airplay on one Alternative station (KITS-San Francisco, where it's top 20). Did this do anything upon original release, and does anyone think it could do well today if it were re-released?

I don't really know that it did a whole lot upon release, although a few of the more left-field radio stations did pick up on it. It probably would have a bit of a better chance, but it'd seem weird to me since I heard it in high-enough rotation back in 2003.

LOL, this debuts at #95 on the Hot 100, certainly almost all from downloads.

I thought they were just "The Caesars". Where did Palace come from? That's what they're called in Sweden, or Finland, one of those places. I remember reading that on Music Choice back in 2003 when this was released.

I saw these guys open for Soundtrack Of Our Lives a couple years ago - really fun live band. They had a song in a TV ad around that time, too.
There does seem to be some variety in terms of the band name & their releases....the US release I bought a couple years ago is called "39 Minutes Of Bliss In An Otherwise Meaningless World" - I think it's kind of a compilation. In addition to being known also as Caesar's Palace I think they may have released stuff under the name 12 Caesars.

I was browsing through the latest Rolling Stone today, and on the 'what's hot' section in the back, it had this song and said something like, "even though it came out around a year ago, that damn iPod shuffle commercial has everyone addicted to it."

"that damn iPod shuffle commercial has everyone addicted to it." Is that what that song is? Huh.

They've got a new album coming out, too...I wonder if the label will slap "Jerk It Out" on there now.
