No add date confirmed, but is the next single for One Day Remains. I guess Alter Bridge has been having some chart success at Active Rock with two Top 10 showings. However, it doesn't seem like this airplay is helping generate sales for their album. I just don't see how releasing another track will do them any good. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I can only imagine how cheesy this must be, judging by the title.

This is a great classic rock ballad. Much better than most of the crap that passes as rock n roll today. It will easily go Top 10 on rock. Not too sure about the other formats.
I agree with Noah that this won't do much for album sales. "In Loving Memory" is the only song that can boost sales, and thats due to its crossover potential.

I agree with Noah that this won't do much for album sales. "In Loving Memory" is the only song that can boost sales, and thats due to its crossover potential. Well, I thought if they tried crossing over "Open Your Eyes" to other formats that it might have done something. Not of Creed proportions, but enough would hear it and strike them as Creed's spawn to give it enough airplay exposure. Besides the Tremonti solo, it has pretty much all the familiar characteristics of a classic Creed track. But I absolutely agree with "In Loving Memory". And I think their label went the wrong direction in promoting this album. Despite the warm receiving on Active Rock, it's still off par from the showings of Creed in their "My Own Prison" and "Human Clay" eras, where they earned six combined #1's on Active Rock from both records. They should have recognized that Creed were beginning to lose traction on these formats during the "Weathered" era. "My Sacrifice" came out strong, but everything afterwards was lukewarm. "Bullets" had a fast rising but plunged just as fast, and many shyed away from "One Last Breath". I feel Alter Bridge should have been promoted more heavily to the Pop and Hot AC formats. I believe they chose the right lead single, and I guess I can't argue too much about "Find The Real" either since I saw crossover potential for "Open Your Eyes" and traditionally a rock band wants to release an edgier track following one with crossover appeal, but "Broken Wings" is a wrong choice if they do want to harness any of the remaining Pop/Hot AC-leaning Creed fans. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

ALTER BRIDGE Broken Wings Producer(s): not listed Writer(s): M. Tremonti Publisher(s): various Genre: ROCK Label/Catalog Number: Wind-up WUJC 20123 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: March 26, 2005
"Broken Wings" is a great track to elevate Alter Bridge's profile, which has slipped despite the promising run its first single, "Open Your Eyes," had last year. The song's sorrowful overtones and profound message were likely influenced by the loss of writer/guitarist Mark Tremonti's mother (she died in 2002), since a tune is dedicated to her on the band's self-titled debut. Contemplating topics like karma and mortality are weighty matters, but Tremonti's talent for writing inspiring anthems sets "Wings" aloft instead of letting it get bogged down in morbidity. Alter Bridge's steadfast performance anchors the lullaby melody, but the bass gently tolls in the background like a funeral bell, adding to the material's contradictions of sadness and enlightenment. It's an oddly comforting piece of work, helped by singer Myles Kennedy, whose rich, vibrant tenor makes the lyric sound soothing.—CLT

I really like this song. It's not as great as "Open Your eyes", but 10 times better than "Down to my last"

I thought Rock would eat this song up. It has a very classic sound.
