Currently an instant impact on Alt with 70 spins. It's off to a pretty good start. I haven't heard it but it looks like it could be fixing to get a lot of buzz.

Featuring CHESTER BENNINGTON Oh god, don't tell me this is that dumbass DJ they had opening their first Projekt: Revolution tour... I don't remember what offended me so much about him, I just remember he was a tool. I remember him spinning "Smells Like Teen Spirit" but I can't remember if that alone was offensive, or if he urinated on it somehow. He probably urinated on it with horrendously misplaced DJ scratches. And maybe he said stuff at some point during his set, some banter that was totally asinine and low-brow.

I don't recall his name on PR, but regardless, this song is great.

KNDD actually played this last night. So I guess they haven't totally dismissed Linkin Park after all. I doubt this means they'll start playing actual LP songs, though, but whatever.

From the descriptions posted here, I expected a very different song from what I got. I hate to say it, but the song made a very favorable first impression on me. It sounds like a cross between "Crawling" and "My December". Also, it's already #14 in audience.

41 28 Z-TRIP Walking Dead 538 348 190 6.384 31 29 U2 Sometimes You Can't ... 534 514 20 3.649 34 30 JACK JOHNSON Sitting, Waiting, Wi... 511 430 81 4
Looks like it's on its way to being a top 5 hit... one of the few songs that I am sure will get top 5 on the current chart. (NIN, and Killers being the others)

Z-TRIP FEATURING CHESTER BENNINGTON Walking Dead Producer(s): DJ Z-Trip Writer(s): Z. Sciacca, C. Bennington Publisher(s): Z-Trip Music (BMI); Chesterchaz Publishing admin. by Zomba Songs (BMI) Genre: MODERN ROCK Label/Catalog Number: Hollywood 11728 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: April 09, 2005
Numerous modern rock outlets are championing this peek into Z-Trip's major-label debut ("Shifting Gears," due April 19), including KROQ Los Angeles, WXRK New York, KITS San Francisco and KNDD Seattle. Indeed, these stations are far removed from Z-Trip's core hip-hop base, but this haunting track does feature Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, after all. Here, Bennington's aching vocals are layered atop blistering hip-hop beats, Middle Eastern strings and caustic guitars. With upcoming performances at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Z-Trip could very well break in a major way.—MP

Y'know it's funny: Chester Bennington was recording Meteora right next to Evanescence recording their debut at one point, and Chester and Amy got to talking and Amy was saying how Wind-Up wanted them to sound like Linkin Park and blah blah blah, and Chester was unpleasantly surprised when he finally heard "Bring Me to Life" on the radio, only now what's just about the main line of the Z-Trip song, "I'll bring you to life"? It's hard to hear that phrase with fresh ears after Evanescence took it to the bank.

www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=35585www.artisannews.com/ans101/templates/?a=128&z=98Artisan News Service is reporting that LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington has collaborated with DJ Z-TRIP on a song called "Walking Dead", which appears on Z-TRIP's new album, "Shifting Gears", due in the U.S. on Tuesday (April 19). The DJ said that the song is more a less a tribute to the pair's friendship, which dates back to their days in Phoenix, and a testament to the power of the underdog. "The biggest point obviously with he and I — and this is something a lot of people don't know — but with that track in particular and the collaboration, he's from Phoenix, and I'm from Phoenix. So it was sort of like the whole vibe of two Phoenix guys, like getting down on a track," explained Z-Trip, who continued, "...not just two Phoenix guys, but two Phoenix underdogs. There was a time when he was in a band, GRADE A's,*** and I was in my thing with BOMBSHELTER, and it's like people were sort of... It was brewing. It could have went either way. People could have been like, 'Yeah, both of those guys suck, and they're going to fall off.' or 'They could have totally done well.' And we ended up doing well and it's sort of a testament to Phoenix guys doing good." ***Obviously the reporter didn't do to well, being that the band was Grey Daze not Grade A's.
